Product Spotlight - What I'm Loving - Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer

January 31, 2020

If you follow any bloggers or influencers on Instagram, you've seen this product. Everyone raves about it, says it's the easiest thing to blow your hair dry with, best product on the market, etc, etc, etc. Oh, it's on amazon prime, and it's usually on sale.

I have been watching stories of people blowing their hair dry for months and I finally bit the bullet and bought it. It came in 3 days and safe to say I've never been more excited to blow dry my hair. When I posted the picture of this blow dryer on Insta-stories I received more DMs than I've ever received about anything. Literally 60 SIXTY DMs about a BLOWDRYER.

I'm going to be fully transparent, I hate blowing my hair dry. With a normal blow dryer it usually takes me about 30 minutes and by the end it's time for another shower because I'm sweating, my arms are tired and my bathroom feels like a sauna. For Christmas, my sweet husband got me the Dyson blowdryer and it's changed my life forever. But thats another blog post for another day.

I assumed adding this product to my routine would make life even easier. And it did, but it's not all rainbows and sunshine. Here we go.

Here's how Revlon describes the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer:
The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer is a designed to deliver gorgeous volume and brilliant shine in one-step. The unique oval brush design features gently curved sides for smoothing the hair, while the round edges create volume at the roots and beautifully curled ends, resulting in gorgeous salon-like blowouts at home.
My first take of this dryer - It's good.
My second take of this dryer - I wouldn't buy it again.

Let me explain.

I'll start with the pros.
  • It blow drys fast, like really fast. I let my hair air dry for about 10 minutes and it took me about 10 minutes to blow the entire thing straight.
  • It's very easy to use.
  • It doesn't tangle your hair.
  • It leaves your hair smooth.
  • It's cheap. $35! You can buy it here
Let's get to the cons.
  • It's the loudest machine I've ever had in my house in my entire life and that includes the lawn mower.
  • It's hotter than our oven. I actually burned my finger after I touched my hair.
  • Once you blow dry, you cannot style your hair with any machine. Maybe this is me, but my hair wouldn't curl AT all. And if you know how I wear my hair on the reg, you know how devastating this is for me.
After all that, out of the 60 DM's I received, only 4 said they didn't like it. 56 people raved about it, said it changed their life, they couldn't live without it, and don't use anything else. So, if you hate blow-drying your hair and you like wearing it straight and pretty, I'd highly suggest this!

I haven't used it since that first day.
