So, my best friend has been married for 11 days, which means it's absolutely time for throwback Thursday post with everything wedding. A few Fridays ago, we ventured to Charlottesville, Virginia to celebrate #MattandCotisayIdo.
I shared with you her engagement, her Bachelorette Party (10 Tips), we talked about Bridal Showers (gold balloons are a must), we spent 18 hours together, I told her what I wanted her to know on her wedding day. Well, now it's time to talk wedding.
Have you ever been to Charlottesville, Virginia? I never had been before either. It's about a hundred miles south of Washington DC, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thomas Jefferson is from there and you can even visit his home at Monticello. Or, with a short 30 minute drive from Charlottesville is Montpelier, the home of James Madison.
Charlottesville is also home to University of Virginia, tons of amazing restaurants, wineries, cute hotels and shops. Think I'm trying to sell you on Charlottesville? Well, I am. One trip and I'm in love.
If you ever go, here is what I suggest doing while you are there. As always, picture evidence is to follow.

If you ever go, here is what I suggest doing while you are there. As always, picture evidence is to follow.
- Have a best friend get married in Charlottesville. (It helps if the couple is a STUNNER too)
- Have your best friend get married at a vineyard there. I suggest Pippin Hill, but the cool thing, there are over 30 vineyards in the area.
- Make sure your best friends has other best friends you can become best friends with.
- Dance.
- Smooch. (This one is more bride and groom, but you get it!)
- Take pictures in sunsets.
- Eat delicious BBQ - you are in the south ya'll. The Whiskey Jar is amazing.
- Walk the mall.
- Make sure there is a rehearsal dinner at an amazing restaurant. I suggest The Local.
- Use snapchat and boomerang.
- Drink champagne.
- Photo booths are always cool.

To Matt and Coti: Thanks for picking such an incredible place to get married and for inviting all of us to join you. It really was the best time ever, when are we going back? To you two, your love is incredible. I wish you nothing but joy and happiness in the many years to come. You two are a perfect couple and the past ten years created the most wonderful evening. <3
This post is a few weeks overdue, but so worth remembering. A couple weeks ago, Adam and I ventured to Omaha. We went for a variety of reasons; babies, baby showers, grandpa visits, engagements and extra family time.
I am sure that extra family (and friend) time is never a waste and always worth it. Even if it is an 8 hour drive.
Omaha is always so wonderful because it's full. It's full of dinner, friends, family, delicious cocktails and this time -- babies.
Two of my best girls are mamas and almost mamas. Lyndsey had the sweetest little bun, Caroline, in March and this was my weekend to meet the little love. Lyndsey is a natural. She is such a great and relaxed mom, even when Caroline pukes on her favorite aunt --> me. She's a happy, beautiful baby and lunch with her and my girls was just what my heart needed.
After the girls lunch, Adam and I ventured to visit Grandpa. Little did we know that this would be one of our last visits with him, but it was such a good visit. We were so lucky to have the extra time with him.
Dinner with family to follow and lots of cocktails with my Adam and mother and father in law. The next day it was baby shower time! My girl B is the cutest little pregnant mama. The afternoon was spent with coconut chicken salads, too many mimosas with my girlfriends and lots of baby clothes and necessities. I cannot wait to watch B become a mama.
After the shower, I ventured down to the lake for a surprise engagement for my brother-in-law and now almost future sister-in-law. My brother-in-law arranged all the family and her family to be at the lake so when he proposed on the boat, we'd all be on the dock. Needless to say, she did not see it coming. Bring on the next wedding!
Family weekends are the best. They are good for the soul and the heart. I love that I have such amazing friends and family to love and to miss.

Weekends are just the best. I wish they could they all be 5 days and then work weeks, 2, but since they can't why not just talk about them always! My favorite thing about weekends is the ability to slow down and move really fast all while doing fun things, usually drinking delicious cocktails and they're always spent with great people.
When I wasn't working weekends were just another day in the week. Sure, Adam was home but for me life didn't really change. Now that I work all week, counting down the days until Friday night is one of my favorite pastimes.
I haven't done a weekend recap in a long time, so brace yourself, this is going to be a long weekend recap with tons of fun things and a bunch of weekends!
The whole event is like a huge party. Adam and I went with some good friends of ours and had an absolute blast. We wandered around, sampled beers from our hometowns, random cities I've never heard of and then of course all the good local Colorado beers. We watched a silent disco, yes a disco where only the people wearing the headphones could hear the DJ, who was also wearing headphones. It was so funny we watched for over 5 minutes.
We witnessed the first ever marijuana infused beer, don't worry mom, I didn't try it, but it ran out in 5 minutes, so safe to say it was a hit. Welcome to Colorado! I found out that while I like brown ales, I hate coffee ales. Hate coffee ales? I know, I know, so sue me, I prefer my coffee in a mug, not a beer glass.
Overall, it was such a fun experience. Even if you're not a huge beer drinker, I highly recommend this festival. Grab your friends and your pretzel necklace because this is a party you do not want to miss. Oh, and don't forget your iPhone, there are a lot of good photo ops.
Taylor Swift
If you don't love Taylor Swift, I suggest skipping to the 3-year old birthday party recap, because for the next foreseeable paragraphs I'm going to fan-girl crush about Tay. Oh, and if you don't like Taylor or at least respect her for being a #girlboss, I feel sad for you. Sure, she dates a lot, she loves boys and she hates boy, but this girl has life down pat.
Taylor Swift is not only has the biggest (female artist) album of the year but her album 1989 hasn't left the Top 20 charts since it was released in November 2014. Oh, PS 1989 sold 1.287 million copies in the first week of it's release. Let that sink in. If all that didn't make her awesome, don't even get me started on her #squad. Or the fact that Welcome to New York allowed Tay to donate 50K to NYC public schools. Have I convinced you yet? Maybe Helene's post on why she's rocking social media will convince you. Or maybe I'll just let the pictures do the talking.
I went to Taylor's concert in Omaha with some of my two best girls and when we walked in we said, "we shouldn't be here, we're too old," when we left we were wondering when the next tour was. We went to her last concert together and we all had matching shirts... hey don't make fun, because we were so cool we got brought down to the pit. I was so close to Tay.
Anyways, she sings, dances and interacts with the crowd for two solid hours. I won't hold it against her that there weren't any guest stars at this show, maybe next time. We danced and sang the night away. It was such a blast. I know the tour is almost over, but find a way to go to her show, you won't regret it.
3-Year Old Birthday Party
My niece, Izzy turned three at the most fun birthday party ever. Cue the cake, cookies, life size balloons and bounce house. Three-year olds are so fun it almost makes me think I'm ready for kids. Almost. Izzy knows everything about everything. I swear its like she's one of my galpals. We could sit and chat for hours. Sure it's not wine and RHOC, but it's Peppa Pig and juice boxes, but that girl is a riot.
We spent the afternoon opening presents, eating cookies, jumping on the bounce house and watching her drive her car around the backyard. Family gatherings are my favorite kinds. Its then I wish my everyday wish that all my family lived in the same state. I hope my next birthday is as exciting as Izzy's third birthday.
Michigan
Another family gathering weekend and it was just as special as the last one. A long weekend in Michigan to visit my wonderful grandparents, family and then to top the weekend off we celebrated at a beautiful wedding.
Friday we spent the day with my grandparents. My grandpa isn't super mobile so we took my grandmother to lunch and then hung out with the both of them at their house. It's incredible how witty they still are. There were more "drop the mic" moments than I can count. It was adorable watching them meet my nephew, their great-grandson for the first time. I'm so thankful I got to see that. Plus, I took a selfie with my grandmother (her first). It was such a wonderful afternoon.
That night was a raucous one as we joined my entire dad's side of the family for drinks and dinner at my aunts house. There is never a dull moment when we all get together. From suede dresses, to leather skirts, wine and even more selfies, we spent most of the evening laughing so hard, I'm pretty sure some of those adults may have peed their pants. I love this crazy family of mine.
Saturday was coney dogs and a wedding (side-note: if you haven't been to National Coney Island in Detroit, well now you have a reason to go to Detroit). Saturday was pretty dang cold, but braving the snow was worth watching two become husband and wife.

Well, I think that about wraps up the last couple months. Adam and I have been pretty busy racking up those Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points, but I wouldn't trade a minute of any of it. Now, I have to sign off to prep my house for weekend-guests. Like I said, life moves pretty fast.

The Great American Beer Festival is the largest collection of U.S. beer ever served, in a public tasting event. There are more than 3,500 beers from over 700 breweries. Have I sold you on this festival yet? No... okay. Did you know this festival is three days long and takes up the largest space in the Convention Center? Oh also, you can only bring in what you can wear. Cue the pretzel necklaces, Chipotle burritos on necklaces and cookie necklaces.

Happy Thursday everyone! I don't know about you, but this week has flown. I don't know about you, but I am so excited for the long weekend! Adam and I are venturing off to Wyoming tomorrow for a family wedding and I'm pumped to explore. I've never been to Wyoming before so if you have any good recommendations, please send them my way!
Today, I'm doing a mash up of throwback Thursday and a double weekend recap! My internet has been a little shotty and blogger was fantastic and deleted this post twice already. So, I'm starting again.
I have so much to catch you up on! Life has been super hectic, per usual, but with so much good, so let's get started!
First, as you are aware, my best friend/moh is engaged! ENGAGED. I am so so thrilled for her and Matt. A couple of weekends ago, Coti's sister threw her and Matt such a romantic engagement party in Arizona and it was so so fun. It was perfectly tailored to them, <sidenote: her sister should be a party planner!> Celebrating engagements is one of my favorite things, especially when the couple is my two best friends. It was so fun celebrating Matt and Coti for the night. Coti and Matt are such a gorgeous couple both inside and out. You can feel their love when you're around them and dedicating a night to them is just so wonderful. Below are some fabulous pictures from their party. This was such a great party, I cannot imagine nor wait for their wedding, it's going to be as wonderful as they are.
Second, my nephew turned ONE. It seems like just yesterday he was born. Tomás is just the most beautiful little boy, so full of energy and happiness. He just loved zipping around in his little car, stuffing is face with cake and being held by everyone. He is such a joy, I'm so proud to be his aunt and godmom.
Third, Adam and I went to the Broncos game! First (preseason) game of the year and it was so fun. Since I was born in Denver and now live here, I claim to be a die-hard, life-long Bronco's fan. I love the orange and blue.

Happy Thursday everyone and happy #TBT! In the spirit of continuing with "get to know me week" I thought I'd throw it back a bit. My entire life I've had long hair, except for two very vivid moments in my life. Once when I was in 6th grade and then once when I was 24. When I was in 6th grade, I thought it would be cool to cut bangs. I cut those again when I was 23, but that's a different story for another day and another blog. Both times I cut my hair I said I'd never do it again. All of my hairdressers know NOT to cut my hair. Adam, my parents, my friends, every time I bring this up, they tell me the same thing, NO.
But do you wanna know why I swore I'd never cut my hair again?
Everyone who knows me will know this answer... because I look like a Hanson Brother, Taylor Hanson.
Recently though, I've had this urge to cut my hair again! Everyone I know, including Adam, is screaming do not do it!! I legitimately complained about it for two years until it was excessively long again, so I can't blame those around me from telling me no. Wanna know why I wanna cut it again?

I mean, we're practically twins.
I guess it's my luck that Taylor is the cute brother, but still, no-one, especially a girl in her twenties wants to look like a 1998 boy-bander.Recently though, I've had this urge to cut my hair again! Everyone I know, including Adam, is screaming do not do it!! I legitimately complained about it for two years until it was excessively long again, so I can't blame those around me from telling me no. Wanna know why I wanna cut it again?
- First, my long hair is a pain in the butt. At least an hour a day is devoted to grooming. I mean, who honestly has time for that. I could be learning a foreign language in that time. Or lets be real, I would be catching up on snapchat stories, but still, an hour is a lot of time!
- Second, every time I see Kelly Ripa's short bob, or Jennifer Lawrence and that one time she cut her hair, I die for short hair. But then I have to remind myself, I don't have a hairstylist. I'm not famous and I'm not Jennifer Lawrence.
- Third, I kind of like the discomfort of hating my hair. I know, that sounds crazy, but I love my hair and have a lot of personal confidence from my hair. Cutting my hair is kind of a release...and super daunting.

Huge news: My best friend got engaged! These two love birds have been dating for 9 years and are engaged! They are currently vacationing in Europe and Matt proposed under the Eiffel Tower, go Matt! Coti and I have been best friends since we were 13 years old, and here we are at 28 (eek) watching each other get married! Coti was my maid of honor in my wedding and made my whole experience so wonderful. She threw me an incredible shower, an amazing bachelorette party and throughout the entire process made me feel like the most special bride on the planet. And now, it's her turn and I am so excited. Coti is the most self-less person I've ever known and she deserves to have all the focus, celebration and joy on her throughout this process. I am so glad it's her turn and I cannot wait to celebrate her!
PS remember when I said we've been best friends since we were 13? Well, pictures weren't digital that far back, so the oldest picture I have on my computer is from Coti's 16h Birthday - it's a picture of a picture.
Coti and Matt, Congrats on finding each other! You two are the perfect match and I couldn't be happier that you two are engaged. God perfectly designed you two for each other and it's been so fun to watch you two grow together. I cannot wait for this process, your wedding and your new life together! The worst thing about not being a student anymore is the lack of Spring Break. Now you have to take TIME off in order to have vacation, such a bummer. But in college, they voluntarily gave you multiple weeks off to enjoy yourself. And, in college I took full advantage of my week of freedom. Every year my friends and I would jet to somewhere fabulous, Cabo, Huntington Beach, Lake Havasu, Vegas, Scottsdale! My favorite spring break by far was Cabo. The sun was shining, the water was warm and the tequila was cold! Happy #throwback Thursday everyone!

Today marks 100 days until I am officially a Mrs! 100 days until the official name change. 100 days until the biggest day of our lives! If you cannot tell, I am so pumped. In honor of the 100 day wedding countdown, I thought I would post some of my favorite throwbacks with Adam. It's been a fabulous 4+ years and I cannot wait for our wedding!
