My dad's the best - he always sends me these awesome thoughts and verses of the day. This one really hit close to home today.
Thought for the Day: Don't be afraid to try new things and follow your dreams. As we keep trying to do our best we will discover a dynamic and fulfilled life. We have to step out and pour out, trusting that the Holy Spirit will fill us and give us what we need to continue.
Verse for the Day: "Trust God from the bottom of your heart;don't try to figure don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline; don't sulk under his loving correction. It's the child he loves that God corrects; a father's delight."

"I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me."
::Psalm 16:8.
I believe that this is God’s way of saying to the world, “I want to see your humanity.”

How you climb up the mountain is just as important as how you get down the mountain. And, so it is with life, which for many of us becomes one big gigantic test followed by one big gigantic lesson, in the end, it all comes down to one word, grace. It's how you accept winning and losing, good luck and bad luck, the darkness and the light.
2010 has already been one for the record books. With simple surprises and great friends by my side, I can say confidently that this year is going to be one to beat. Even though at the cusp of 2010 I was a bit nervous for what this new decade had in store for me, I'm ready to go confidently into the future. I guess it's about having a little faith and realizing that we can never stop pursuing our dreams. Happiness comes when you least expect it, it comes in the most random forms, it happens when all you have is hope. So, with Vegas, LA and Aspen in store, it's easy to say I'm ready for the new year. I can't wait.
“You can’t live in fear. Life is about taking risks, not being afraid to go after what you want.” - One Tree Hill
It's hard to believe it's finally here- the end of 2009, the end of a decade. It seems like this year went faster than the rest, maybe it's because the events that encompassed this year seemed to be so much bigger than others, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's over. All the craziness, hopes, fears and excitement of 2009 are soon over, but I'm hopeful\ because it means I'm about to be greeted by the hopes of 2010. 2009 was a year filled with learning experiences, celebrations, and challenges, some greater than others, some more influential than others, and I think for me, it will be a year that changed a lot of things.
It was the year I lived up to all my own pressures and finally did it - I graduated. I allowed myself to be vulnerable and see a glimpse of what love is supposed to look like. I gave into my fears and took the ultimate test of endurance. I watched my friends succeed in ways beyond words. I found my roots and I moved home. I became a mom and bought a dog. I struggled, I cried & I drank a lot of wine. I learned more about myself than I did in all four years of college. I figured myself out, and while, to my own dismay, I don't have the next chapter of my life planned out, I have hope. I've seen what I can do and what I'm capable of, and while I'm just sort of floating right now, I will land eventually. I will find my place. So while I might not be ready for the next step- I'm ready for the new year.
Through the good the bad and the ugly I made it, we all made it. So tonight as we pop the bubbly and ring in the new year, it's important to remember 2009, and understand and realize the hope and possibilities of 2010.
Bring it on 2010, we're all waiting.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!
And there's a hand my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o thine,
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught,
For auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!
