Happy New Years (almost!)! I hope you all had the very best Christmas. Ours was so wonderful, spent with Adam's family in Omaha. It's so fun getting all the cousins together, watching Quinnie love on her big cousins and spend time with that side of the family. Time is always too short, but too good.
It's the end of the year, and whats better than a December Evereve Try on Session. I have had so much fun showing you my try-ons over the last 5 months and I cannot wait for the outfits 2020 is going to bring! PS. They are having a HUGE sale right now, things up to 70%. So, if you didn't get all your christmas shopping out of your system, now is your time to shine.
Tomorrow I'm debuting THE LIST -- yes you heard it here first, the top 10 fascinating people of 2019! Who do you wanna see on the list? Any guesses?
Ps. This post is LITTERED with sale items. Shop your little heart out.
Okay, let's do it peeps. Without further ado.
OUTFIT ONE // I wore wide leg jeans in my 20's and I'm V excited to see them coming back in my 30's. AND THEY ARE ON SALE. These are so great and stretchy and I love how extra-long they make my legs look. Fair warning, they are not as high as I'm used too, but they are still higher than hips. They have a great amount of stretch in them, are the perfect royal blue and would go so cute with tops like this one, blouses in the summer and wedges. Oh the possibilities! I'm wearing a size 28 in these (7 for Mankind) and a small in the blouse.
Top - small
Jeans - 28 AND ON SALE
Boots - 9
OUTFIT TWO // My biggest regret in this try-on is not buying this jacket. It's like a fuzzy fitted fleece and I need it in my life. I'm wearing a small and it fits to a t. If you wanted it a little over-sized I'd recommend sizing up. Same jeans, cuz I can't stop. And a small in the graphic tee. I'm usually not a graphic tee kinda girl, but I love the bright colors in this one. PS. This jacket is ON SALE!
Jacket - wearing a small and on SALE
T-Shirt - small
Jeans - 28 and ON SALE
Boots - 9
Sweater
Jeans - 28. Did I mention they are on SALE
Jacket - small and ON SALE.
Boots - 9
OUTFIT FOUR // Would you believe me if I told you I've worn this no less than 20 times since I purchased this entire outfit. I finally bit the bullet and bought Spanx leggings and I'm punching myself for waiting so long. I love the slight camo these have. I'm wearing a medium in the spanx. Plus, this oversized hoodie is what my winter dreams are made of. It's oversized, so cozy and I love the green. I'm wearing a small in the hoodie.
Hoodie - small
Leggings - medium
Sneakers - 9
OUTFIT FIVE // This is me making leggings a little "fancier." Is it working? A large oversized grey sweater (that is ONLY $23!!) with a fancy scarf (thats on SALE) and now I'm fancy. This is a perfect transition when you don't want to look like you're going to work out, but also want to stay in leggings. You're welcome. Small in the sweater, it is oversized. Medium in leggings.
Sweater - small and only $23!! SALE
Scarf - os and ON SALE
Leggings - medium
Sneakers - 9
Sweater - small
Sweats - small
Sneakers - 9
OUTFIT SEVEN // This is not my style. But I love it. I'm not a huge leather jacket person, but I think with the right outfit, it's key. This is a Michael Stars jumpsuit that you could easily dress up or down (see the last picture!). The secret to this jumpsuit, is the material is stretchy, but it looks fancy.
I'm wearing a small in both.
Jacket - small
Romper - small
Necklace - os
Boots- 9
OUTFIT EIGHT // The things I love about a shift dress is that it fits perfectly on most people. It hangs straight, looks great paired with a jacket and doesn't ride up on your legs. I love the pattern on this one too. Paired with a black leather jacket and the comfiest OTK boots. PS. These boots are on sale!
Dress - small
Jacket - small
Boots - SALE.
OUTFIT NINE // This is something I would wear every day. Another way to dress up leggings. I'm a sucker for camo and I love the combo of these two types of camo. Another graphic tee, I know what you're thinking, who am I? The best part about this jacket is on the back, you can tighten it to make it a little more fitted.
Jacket - small
Tee - small
Leggings - medium
Sneakers - 9
OUTFIT TEN // The best part about this jacket is that you can remove the fur collar. Why can't you do that with all jackets? Oh, and it's on SALE. This jacket is fitted, soft and the cutest addition to my growing leopard collection. These Frame jeans aren't my favorite TBH, they are pretty short and make my legs look stumpy. I do love the color though.
Jacket - small and ON SALE.
Tee - small
Jeans - 28 (fit V small, size up!)
Boots - 9
Jacket - small and ON SALE.
Tee - small
Jeans - 28 (fit V small, size up!)
Boots - 9
OUTFIT ELEVEN // I know what you guys are thinking, kristen is that a robe? If I told you it was a jacket but felt like a robe and IT WAS ON SALE would it convince you to buy it? I know I throw around the phrase, magic in here a lot, but this jacket is pure magic. It is hands down the comfiest thing I've ever worn. It doubles as a robe, blanket, perfect for snuggling and so dang warm. I throw it on almost every night when I come home. I'm wearing a medium, because I love the oversize feel of it. PS. This is also the jumpsuit from outfit 7! Another way to wear this, cozy jacket and sneakers. See, it's so versatile.
Romper - small
Sneakers - 9
Necklace - OS - but my FAVORITE

2019 was the year I learned to say no (better), not yet, I'm not ready, I don't have space for that, and this doesn't suit me. I learned how to give space to the things and people in my life that I really, really care about and I learned to say no (albeit soo hard) to the less important things and the people who didn't fill me up.
Let me explain.
I am a people pleaser. I'm an enneagram 9. I hate confrontation more than anything and as a result, I say yes a lot more than I should. But in 2019, I worked really hard on saying no more.
For me, no has a very negative connotation. In my mind, I've always thought no meant, I didn't care, I don't want too, or I don't like you. But in a lot of instances, it means, I do care, I really want too and I really like you. And that is why saying no is so hard.
This year, I turned down things that took up too much time. I said no to Junior League this year even though I love it. I stepped away from a bible study I loved but was taking really special time away from something else. We took less vacations to spend more time at home together. We spent lazy Sundays at home instead out at brunch. I broke up with a friend who I really love, but who's presence in my life right now was nothing but tiring and hurtful. I didn't overcommit, instead I committed to the stuff that really filled me up.
It's hard to say no! I hate feeling like I let people down or that I didn't show up for them.
In a way 2019 resembled my goals for 2016.
But you know what happened as a result of saying no to things. I had more time for some amazing things. I spent quality time with my family, found a bible study that fills my soul, spent time working hard at my job, had really quality time with my friends and I am finding that life, my family and the friends I surround myself with really does fill me right up.
2019 was a year that brought so much change, my first full year as a mom, working full time, as a podcast host, wanna be instagram influencer, blogger (when I find the time), all while balancing a husband, friends, and family. We all have so much going on and sometimes it's hard to balance, but I'm finding that if I'm intentional, I can make it work and find all the joy this very busy life has to offer.
2020 is going to be another super exciting year. I honestly cannot wait to see all the amazing things that come our way in 2020. As we prep for another busy year, it has me thinking about what my hopes are for 2020.
Since 2019 was the year of slowing down and being more intentional, I think 2020 is the year I go for it. This year my goal is to BE BOLD. I really wanna grab life by the reigns and jump for those dreams I've been talking about for a while and actually do them.
What does that mean? Blogging more, instagramming more, finding space for this space, jumping into opportunities I said no to last year, and really going for the things I've been dreaming of. I'm not going to be scared to jump at opportunities for fail of someone saying no, or they aren't interested.
Also, I'm going to stick to my saying no resolution and staying committed to being more intentional with my time. I'm going to be bold in my relationships, in my friendships, in my day-to-day, in my faith, in my convictions. Bold means showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.
Here we go 2020. Let's do this.
Here is my quick 10 for 2020.
1. Be better at time management.
2. Say no more (this is a constant goal)
3. 25 paid blog collaborations (for reference, last year I had 14).
4. Travel with Adam more (we're currently working on this one!)
5. Make space for me time (better)
6. Hit episode 100 of TGL! (We're on episode 37!)
7. Be a better friend, wife, mom, daughter, sister.
8. Spend more time in the Bible and less time on instagram
9. Stop comparing, start celebrating.
10. Listen better.
If you're curious about my past years resolutions, you can read them all here.
On This Girl Life, we chatted about our goals. We talked about how to make 2020 the best year yet. If you haven't listened to that episode, you totally should and can do so here.

Holy cow friends, it's been ages. To be honest, life has felt too busy. Too busy in the very best way but still. Blogging used to come very natural to me. Words used to fall out of my mouth and topics came easily. But lately, it's felt the very opposite. But also, I've been craving the time needed to blog.
I'm trying to find the balance between being a mom, wife, podcast host, full time job, wanna be instagram influencer, helping with interior design for friends on the side, cooking dinner, etc. We all know the struggle. We all know life is busy and it sucks because this space has taken a full on back seat.
My life is very scheduled and my goal for 2020 is to schedule more time for The Everyday Grace.

Quinnie Update: Quinnie is almost 15 months old! She's walking all over the place, chatting, babbling, saying mama, dada, Lola, nana, papa, please, toes (random, I know). She gets excited over everything, loves to eat, loves music, dancing, her dogs, and is sleeping like a champ. She's my favorite little human. I'm so obsessed with her, it's crazy.
In November, as most of you know, she went to the ER with croup, and it turned in to pneumonia. This sweet little babe can't catch a break. Luckily, we are 15 days past pneumonia and she is doing better than ever. Thank you for all your sweet calls and messages. She's on the mend :)
The holidays: We spent 6 beautiful days in Arizona with my family. Sweet Quinnie decided she didn't want to sleep while she was in Arizona, probably because she was having too much fun, but other than that, we had a blast. We had so much Nana and Grandpa time, she just lights up around them. Plus, Quinn loves her big boy cousins, so it was extra special to spend so much extra time with her cousins, Aunt and Uncle.
We're heading to Omaha for Christmas for more family time with her other cousins and family. While we may not live where family is, we're blessed with the best, so traveling is part of our gig. What are you guys doing for the holidays?
Fun Things:
Favorite book: The Nightingale. Guys, my initial review of this book was not great I was 100 pages in and it was pretty slow. But omg friends, read this book. It's so incredible. I can honestly say it's changed me. Read it as soon as possible.

On this episode we talk about everything surrounding eating disorders and disordered eating, we talk about orthorexia, non-dieting ways of eating, how to notice if someone is struggling, and how to talk to someone who's struggling. We talk about the need for control and how that translates to our eating.
