If you follow any bloggers or influencers on Instagram, you've seen this product. Everyone raves about it, says it's the easiest thing to blow your hair dry with, best product on the market, etc, etc, etc. Oh, it's on amazon prime, and it's usually on sale.
I have been watching stories of people blowing their hair dry for months and I finally bit the bullet and bought it. It came in 3 days and safe to say I've never been more excited to blow dry my hair. When I posted the picture of this blow dryer on Insta-stories I received more DMs than I've ever received about anything. Literally 60 SIXTY DMs about a BLOWDRYER.
I'm going to be fully transparent, I hate blowing my hair dry. With a normal blow dryer it usually takes me about 30 minutes and by the end it's time for another shower because I'm sweating, my arms are tired and my bathroom feels like a sauna. For Christmas, my sweet husband got me the Dyson blowdryer and it's changed my life forever. But thats another blog post for another day.
I assumed adding this product to my routine would make life even easier. And it did, but it's not all rainbows and sunshine. Here we go.
Here's how Revlon describes the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer:
My second take of this dryer - I wouldn't buy it again.
Let me explain.
I'll start with the pros.

Here's how Revlon describes the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer:
The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer is a designed to deliver gorgeous volume and brilliant shine in one-step. The unique oval brush design features gently curved sides for smoothing the hair, while the round edges create volume at the roots and beautifully curled ends, resulting in gorgeous salon-like blowouts at home.My first take of this dryer - It's good.
My second take of this dryer - I wouldn't buy it again.
Let me explain.
I'll start with the pros.
- It blow drys fast, like really fast. I let my hair air dry for about 10 minutes and it took me about 10 minutes to blow the entire thing straight.
- It's very easy to use.
- It doesn't tangle your hair.
- It leaves your hair smooth.
- It's cheap. $35! You can buy it here.
Let's get to the cons.
- It's the loudest machine I've ever had in my house in my entire life and that includes the lawn mower.
- It's hotter than our oven. I actually burned my finger after I touched my hair.
- Once you blow dry, you cannot style your hair with any machine. Maybe this is me, but my hair wouldn't curl AT all. And if you know how I wear my hair on the reg, you know how devastating this is for me.
After all that, out of the 60 DM's I received, only 4 said they didn't like it. 56 people raved about it, said it changed their life, they couldn't live without it, and don't use anything else. So, if you hate blow-drying your hair and you like wearing it straight and pretty, I'd highly suggest this!
I haven't used it since that first day.

We all know the feeling.
You've run out of deodorant and it only requires a quick stop at Target. You tell your husband you'll be back before Quinn wakes up from her nap. You grab your purse and you're out the door.
But the second you smell that recycled Target air, things instantly change. You tell yourself grabbing a quick coffee will actually help you be more productive. You grab a cart because your "purse is heavy" and it'll actually make you get to the deodorant aisle faster if you don't have to carry it. A quick spin down the home goods is just for browsing because you heard Magnolia has some new items.
Christmas decor is still on sale, so now you're just being a thrifty shopper, saving money for next year you tell yourself. Smelling candles is good for your soul, so is quickly trying on all the new sandals. Then you find yourself in a dressing room. You don't know how you got there. Now you need bins to organize #newyearnewyou. I have been thinking about changing the guest bedroom bedding, a quick look won't hurt.
All of a sudden, one stick of deodorant turns into 3 hours of mindless wandering, 13 missed calls from your husband, your black out from the real world ends and suddenly your cart is full and you've spent $200. It's unexplainable, no-one knows how it happens, and honestly I'm not sure I want to know.
This last time, it was for a birthday card. Literally an hour later, I found myself with 10 outfits in the dressing room, needing almost every outfit I tried on. I figured I can't be the only person who falls into this dilemma, so what's the solution? A try on sesh. Maybe this time, instead of running to Target, you can shop from your phone. One less Target run? Do it for all the husbands out there.
These are some of my favorite outfits from my try-on. Plus at the end, a link to the little extras I found. Because, like I said, those candles won't smell themselves, and the sandals won't try themselves on.
I'm currently a sucker for anything soft. And I love this color. I'm wearing a medium and honestly it's so cozy. Oh and did I tell ya its on sale for under $20! Shop it here!
I'm trying to branch out in my church gear and not just wear black sweater dresses. This was a little big on me, but honestly I love the button down, cinched waist. It would be so cute with wedges and perfect for spring. Shop it here!
I'm usually a sucker for anything denim. This may be my exception to that rule. I can't tell if I love it or hate it. Honestly, if I had a tan, I'd probably wear it. It would be v cute for summer. Also, it has pockets. Win. Of course this one is out, but here are a few other options! Shop here, here, and here!
I'm currently living in anything cozy, didn't I already mention that? Yes, I know these two pieces don't match, but they are both equally comfy. Like, the best ever. Wear them together, wear them apart, thank me later. Shop the top here. Shop the bottoms here.
Another matching set? You bet. This one makes me feel all kinds of fancy. Shop the top here. Shop the bottom here.
All the little extras:
I love my Birkenstocks. I love these more because they're cheaper. Shop them here!
Usually I don't love artificial flowers, but I can't seem to keep flowers alive right now since its so dang cold. I bought a bundle of these and they really brighten my kitchen. Plus, they are $4.99 each. Shop them here.
I'm really loving this Versed eye cream. This mama has bags. Shop it here!
I love candles. I really love these ones. Shop the birch scent here and the cardamon scent here.
Every once in a while, a celebrity death hits really hard. They are always shocking, and always sad, but sometimes they hit straight to the core.
That is how Kobe's death felt yesterday. When I first heard the news, honestly, I couldn't catch my breath. It felt surreal and heavy and dark and so extremely sad. He was 41, he was, in his own words, just beginning this new chapter of his life. He has a 7 month old, a 3 year old, a 13 year old, and a 17 year old daughter. He's been married to his high school sweetheart for 20 years. He just won an Oscar, he was coaching his daughter, he was living his second act after the most amazing basketball career in history.
The weight of his death felt too heavy.
Yesterday, I spent the day in tears as the tributes rolled in. Every time someone mentioned his kids or his wife, I cried again. I cannot fathom her pain. His death feels too much.
I'll be the first to admit, I was never a huge Kobe fan. Hey, I'm a Suns fan and the jealousy I felt watching Kobe's magic on the court made me not love him. But you can't hate a player like Kobe. Instead you watch in awe and wish he was a player on your team. He has the charisma that everyone wanted, the finesse on the court every team dreamed of having, and the skills, man did Kobe had the skills.
His professional accolades are so many that it doesn't even seem right to list them out. We can start with his FIVE NBA championships, 15 All-Star Game appearances, four All-Star Game MVP Awards, two NBA Finals MVP Awards and a single regular-season MVP Award. Oh and top all that off with 2 gold Olympic medals.
Maybe his death his so hard because he seemed invincible. He was Kobe freaking Bryant! He can't die. He's just getting started! His life felt cut so short. His daughters, even shorter. And then you add in all the other people on that helicopter who lost their lives.
Yesterday was heavy, yesterday was so very sad.
Sitting in these moments of grief are so dang hard. It's that very simple reminder that life is so much shorter than we think. It's so precious. Deaths like Kobe remind us that we are all human and all tied together. It's simple simple proof, that our lives as humans and are existence is incredibly powerful and maybe if we continue to remember that, we can act in a way that will honor those who are gone. So today, I plan to love more, give more, forgive more, hold on to my family tighter, tell my friends I love them more, chase dreams, work harder, and believe in myself more.
One of my favorite quotes from Kobe, “Have a good time. Life is too short to get bogged down and be discouraged. You have to keep moving. You have to keep going. Put one foot in front of the other, smile and just keep on rolling.”
Maybe we should all live a little more like Kobe.
Rest in Peace Mamba, the world will never forget you. You will be missed by those who knew you and all the millions who loved you.
I hope you and GiGi are playing basketball in Heaven today.

Happy New Year people! I hope you had the BEST time ringing in the new year. Adam and I rang it in around 10pm and hit the sack. #tootiredtoparty
I love this post so much. This post really is the most magical post of the year. It's my most favorite to write and it's my favorite to get advice on. I reach out to my good friends and ask opinions and I do a lot of googling. I really love looking back on the previous year and remembering the good stuff, the bad stuff, and the fascinating.
I have to preface this list because a lot of you are going to read it and think I'm losing it. "What? You think he's fascinating?!" I can just hear it now.
Listen - fascinating to me does not mean a good person, a person I agree or disagree with politically, like or dislike their music, views, etc. It means someone who has shook culture, politics, movies, art or life in such a way this year they are are fascinating. So before you go criticizing this list by the pictures, read my commentary. I honestly think you may agree.
TEN || Final Season of Game of Thrones: Listen, even if you haven't seen GOT before, you cannot deny the fanfare around this franchise. And, even if you didn't agree with how the season ended, you all still watched! There's no denying that since season 1, these characters have drawn us in, broken our hearts, excited us, pissed us off, made us fall in love, and made us forever believers in GOT. Let's get to the stats.
NINE || Lizzo: Lizzo is absolutely the shining star of 2019. Yes, she makes great music (if you haven't heard Truth Hurts, you're living under a rock), but she's so much more than her music. She's a body positive, women activist, badass, promoting self love, and artist who's been grinding for the last 10 years to make a name for herself. She has grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album. 2019 was an insane year for her, but I have a feeling 2020 will be even more fascinating.
EIGHT || Marie Kondo. She changed the way we all viewed organizing and taught us that if our possessions don't spark joy to get rid of them. She's written two books, launched an app, starred in her own Netflix show, Tidying up and she immediately went viral. She basically invented a new way to fold t-shirts (I started using this method and LOVE it), she's a mom, wife, BOSS, and continues to kill the organizational game. I can't wait to see what fascinating ways she inspires me to clean today.
SEVEN || Kanye: I honestly never thought I'd put Kanye on this list, but this year he has changed my mind and my opinion. If you didn't know, Kanye is a recently self proclaimed christian. He's recently released a christian album (which is so great), he's created a church community in Calabasas, he's preaching the gospel, working with Joel Olsteen and seemingly has changed his life and his views. A lot of people are quick to criticize him (I used to be one of them). But I think it's sad to see people criticizing his christianity or questioning it. I read an amazing thing on facebook addressing this.
SIX || Nancy Pelosi: Like her or hate her (I wont clue you in to my feelings) but Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House would initiate a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump. Three other presidents have faced impeachment proceedings, but only two have been successfully impeached. Sure, a lot of people disagree with her move, but she did it regardless o the fact that President Trump continues to berate her for her every move. Like her or hate her, 2019 was pretty fascinating for her.
FIVE || Hong Kong Protestors: If you haven't seen the pictures of the Hong Kong protests, you look. They are honestly sad. So many people, so much violence, so much anger. Wondering why they started? The BBC did a great 100 word explanation
FOUR || Mr. Rogers. Fred Rogers may have died in 2003, but 2019 was quite a year for him and his memory. Tom Hanks' portrayal of him in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, quietly brought Mr. Rogers back into our homes, lives, and memories. Did you know Mr. Rogers' sweaters were all knit by his mother, names of his puppets and people on his show were named after his loved ones, he composed every single song himself, and he was a minister who believed that everyone was perfect just the way they were. Mr. Rogers is a wonderful example of tolerance, love, patience and acceptance and he will only prove to be more and more fascinating as his memory lives on.
THREE || Greta Thunberg: Greta is the youngest person to be named TIME Magazines Person of the Year. Their detailed description of her is more than I could ever write, so I'll let them do the talking.
TWO || Lori Loughlin. I cannot be the only person fascinated by the college admission scandal. With every new piece of info we hear about it, I get more and more invested. People just keep coming out of the woodwork. One second you think it may be slowing down and another person is caught. While people like Felicity Huffman accepted their fault, and did their time, you have people like Lori who refuse to acknowledge what she did. She pleaded not guilty and continues to try and fight this. She's been effectively cancelled from every major show she was a part of including Fuller House, everything Hallmark Channel, her daughters are no longer USC students and her Instagram is silent.
I'm not sure what this outcome will be but we all know it'll be pretty fascinating.
ONE || Alex Trebek. In March, 2019, Alex announced he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and has since become an outspoken advocate, raising awareness about the disease and the symptoms. And, according to the American Cancer Society, all stages of pancreatic cancer combined have an overall 9% five-year survival rate. Regardless of that statistic, Alex has continued to host Jeopardy, appear on multiple talk shows sharing his story, advocating for pancreatic cancer, and continuing to spending time with his family.
Who would be on your list for most fascinating?
Do you agree or disagree with this list?

There's no denying that since season 1, these characters have drawn us in, broken our hearts, excited us, pissed us off, made us fall in love, and made us forever believers in GOT. Let's get to the stats.
- The final episode "The Iron Throne" brought in a series record of 19.3 million viewers.
- The viewership for "The Iron Throne" included 13.6 million people who watched the episode on HBO at 9 p.m. Sunday night, making it the most-watched telecast in the network's history
- Budget for the final season: $90 million
- Number of times the GOT final season trailer was viewed in 24 hours: 81 million times.
- Emmys GOT was nominated for: 132
- Emmy's GOT Won: 47
Regardless of your views on this show, you cannot deny that it is a force to be reckoned with, one I will miss so much, and one that proves to be insanely fascinating.

I read an amazing thing on facebook addressing this.
Saddens me to se that christians are in the pool of those "blasting" Kanye for his new gospel album. Man, let's be people who celebrate new life. Let's understand that not one of us have or will walk salvations road with perfection, w are all growing. Let the old man die, start looking at people as Jesus does, looking at the new man and treating them as a child of God. The power of the gospel is that the old is dead and behold, the new has come. Jesus didn't hesitate to fight for Kanye, for you, for me, He wasn't judgmental or reserved in His pursuit. He came with reckless love, can we be known for doing the same? Find more on this here on instagram.I'm guilty of this. But this really changed my perspective. I for one am rooting for Kanye and hoping that 2020 is even more fascinating for him.
FIVE || Hong Kong Protestors: If you haven't seen the pictures of the Hong Kong protests, you look. They are honestly sad. So many people, so much violence, so much anger. Wondering why they started? The BBC did a great 100 word explanation
Hong Kong's protests started in June against plans to allow extradition to mainland China. Critics feared this could undermine judicial independence and endanger dissidents. Until 1997, Hong Kong was ruled by Britain as a colony but then returned to China. Under the "one country, two systems" arrangement, it has some autonomy, and its people more rights. The bill was withdrawn in September but demonstrations continue and now demand full democracy and an inquiry into police actions. Clashes between police and activists have become increasingly violent, with police firing live bullets and protesters attacking officers and throwing petrol bombs.Even though the bill was withdrawn, the protests are still going. People are absolutely fighting for what they believe is right, but when does it stop? Gotta admit, 6 months of protesting is pretty dang fascinating.
FOUR || Mr. Rogers. Fred Rogers may have died in 2003, but 2019 was quite a year for him and his memory. Tom Hanks' portrayal of him in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, quietly brought Mr. Rogers back into our homes, lives, and memories. THREE || Greta Thunberg: Greta is the youngest person to be named TIME Magazines Person of the Year. Their detailed description of her is more than I could ever write, so I'll let them do the talking.
Thunberg began a global movement by skipping school: starting in August 2018, she spent her days camped out in front of the Swedish Parliament, holding a sign that read Skolstrejk för klimatet: “School Strike for Climate.” In the 16 months since, she has addressed heads of state at the U.N., met with the Pope, sparred with the President of the United States and inspired 4 million people to join the global climate strike on September 20, 2019, in what was the largest climate demonstration in human history. You may agree or disagree with her, but this powerhouse is 16 years old, fighting for what she believes in, tweeting the President and living what we can all agree a life pretty fascinating.
TWO || Lori Loughlin. I cannot be the only person fascinated by the college admission scandal. With every new piece of info we hear about it, I get more and more invested. People just keep coming out of the woodwork. One second you think it may be slowing down and another person is caught. He's proven that his spirit is bigger than this cancer and I cannot wait for him to announce he's in remission (God willing!) and his plans to make 2020 and Jeopardy even more fascinating.
Who would be on your list for most fascinating?
