Oh hey. Where do you start when it's been over 6 months since you blogged? I honestly don't know. I guess I should just start.
Let's talk about The Everyday Grace first. It's been my blog since I was 21. Yes, you can go back and read when I was a young little thing figuring it all out. You can track my journey through graduating college, falling in love, law school, marriage and more. You can feel my struggles, my love and some good old fashioned recipes.
I'm back.
I'm back as a mom of two, Quinn and Lucy.
I'm a wife.
I have a full time job. And I love Instagram.
In the last six months, I think I've really narrowed down what I want this space to me. For the longest time, I've felt like I've been spinning my wheels trying to find my niche. I've been through recipes, wedding planning, travel guides. I dove head first into fashion. And while I loved all of those things, I never felt like I found "it." I never found the thing that made me passionate enough to write about daily and share about daily.
Because let's face it, while I love all those things, they don't consume my every day. I wear Target fashion and order Doordash on the reg.
But now - things have changed and here's what I know. I have found my passion.
I'm a mom and I LOVE being a mom. I love the community I've created with my mom friends. I love the community I've created on Instagram. I crave community. I crave real conversations with friends. I want to be the friend that makes you feel comfortable to ask the questions, pray with, be yourself, cry, laugh, celebrate. I want to encourage you. I want to make you feel important and loved.
At the end of the day, I want you to feel loved. When you've had a hard day and yelled at your kids. When you snapped at your husband and when you felt guilty. I want you to know that those feelings are normal. I want you to feel loved. I want you to feel reassured. I want to give you the space to feel those feelings.
This is the Everyday Grace.
This the the Everyday Motherhood.
I went back and forth on making my new Instagram handle either Kristen Grace or using my last name. Grace is what we, as humans need on the daily. It's given to us by God because of his love for us and a a mom, it's basically what gets me through the day. But, that name is taken :)
I want to create a community where moms feel safe and where they feel welcome.
I love sharing tips and tricks to being a mom. I love sharing what I've learned. And I love sharing what I've learned from friends. I also love sharing what I don't know.
That's what you'll find here. Sure, you might find great Target finds and some meal plans. But you'll also find breastfeeding tips. You'll find toddler favorites, the best coffee recipes, toddler lunch ideas and how to get your toddler to sleep through the night.
You'll find the best night cream (because HI, I'm 33), shows I'm binging, books I'm reading, and what Adam and I do to keep the spark alive.
This blog is dedicated to women. To moms. To people who want community.
You'll find support, encouragement and acceptance. This is a no judgment zone.
This is The Everyday Grace, by me, Kristen Grace.
I'm so glad you're here.
I'll be the first to admit that sometimes when I thought about this weekend and the plans we originally had, I get a little sad that we're stuck in quarantine. We were supposed to be in the mountains celebrating our anniversary and mother's day. We were going to eat at our favorite restaurants, shop at our favorite stores, and show Quinnie all over Vail.
But yes, we'll be at home yet still celebrating these amazing anniversaries! Even though we don't get to be where we want to celebrate, we get to get together and that's the most important.

But hey, enough about that. Today we're doing 50 questions to ask and answer. I saw Kallie do this and I loved it. I always love getting to know bloggers more, so I figured, let's do it! Ps. If you want even more introductions - you can read them all here!
1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called?
I prefer to be called Kristen or mama, but my nicknames are K, Kris, Kristiana (only Adam calls me this!)
Currently dying to read The Atomic City Girls. I can't stop reading books set in WW2, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know!
I don't even know what this means. I don't have time to doodle, haha. And I'm a terrible drawer.
Currently, pregnancy insomnia is hitting me so freaking hard. Usually I try to lay in bed and figure it out. Sometimes I grab my kindle and read, most of the time I grab my phone, and scroll.

5. How many days could you last in solitary confinement? How would you do it?
HA! This question seems timely. While I am not in solitary confinement, I'm in quarantine with my sweet hubs and baby. We're going on 56 days, so 56 days.
I keep every card ever given to me. I have a box for letters from Adam and I have a box for all other letters. They are my favorite keepsake.
Does my answer in #6, mean me?
If I'm at a party where I am comfortable, I kind of love to make a scene and get excited for seeing everyone I know and love.
9. What is your strongest sense? If you had to give one up, which would it be?
Strongest sense? Well I'm pregnant, so I'm going with smell. Man alive, I can smell anything, and I mean anything.
That I was adopted, I blame Tom, my brother.
Oh yikes, just one? TV, wine (when I'm not pregnant, obvs), scrolling Instagram, but TV.
13. Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know?
I don’t know lol
14. How often do you read the newspaper? Which paper? Which sections?
Yikes, I don't. I read magazines and books!
15. Which animals scare you most? Why?
Skunks, because of the great skunk attack of 2019. If you didn't know, Lola got skunked last April and I brought her through the house to the garage. Our entire house smelled so bad for weeks and weeks. I had to get the carpets professionally cleaned, I had every fabric laundered and Lola was practically shaved naked. It was seriously one of the worst things ever.
16. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on?
I'm an enneagram 9, I hate conflict. I'm trying to be more bold in my relationships and speak my emotions and thoughts better, but I hate it.
17. What was the most recent compliment you’ve received and savored?
I recently posted a picture on Instagram and my gf Abbeigh commented this and it made me cry. It was just what I needed to hear and the sweetest message.
"I don’t doubt for a second that you’ll take this transition with so much love and grace. you’re a great mama, kristen! these two girls are surely blessed to have you!"
I am passive aggressive. It's something I constantly am working on and I think I am better at it, but I don't think its something that I will ever totally get rid of.
Very much so. I rely heavily on my routine and knowing what is coming. That's honestly the reason quarantine has been so hard for me.
100%. Adam knew this the second he met me and has never tried to change that.
I think being pregnant with my second is really pushing my body.

22. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends? Why?
Both? I have a lot of girlfriends. I love my girl friendships and find a lot of joy and pride in those relationships. I work very hard at my friendships because having a group of girlfriends is very important to me and to my sanity. That being said, I have 5 very very close girlfriends, who I would say know me the best. And 1 who pretty much knows all my depths.
23. Are you more inclined to “build your own empire” or unleash the potential of others?
I tend to say unleash the potential of others. I like the idea of being my own boss, but honestly I feel more comfortable building others up. I love being a support system to people. Unless you mean my own empire being my house.
Pass?
25. What do you think about more than anything else?
My Quinnie and Adam.
26. What’s something that amazes you? This is going to sound bad, but let me explain. It amazes me how much I love being a mom. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I had no idea how much it would light my soul on fire. Every day I see my baby in the morning, I am re-lite up and I can't handle my intense, intense love for her and for my role as her mom.

27. Do you prefer that people shoot straight with you or temper their words? Why?
I tend to say temper their words, because I hate confrontation. But I also want to know the truth and if I hurt you. I don't like playing around with feelings.
28. Where’s your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?
Out to dinner :)
29. What’s one thing you’d rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why?
Clean my house.
30. Do you have a catchphrase?
Holy moly, man alive, sheesh.
31. What’s your reaction towards people who are outspoken about their beliefs? What conditions cause you to dislike or, conversely, enjoy talking with them?
Good for them! I think public outcries of religion and politics are v weird on facebook and places like that, but for the most part, I don't really care. I just scroll.
32. How and where do you prefer to study?
I don’t study anymore (Thank the lord).
33. What position do you sleep in?
When I'm not pregnant, flat on my stomach. Pregnant, on my side.
34. What’s your all-time favorite town or city? Why?
Scottsdale, it's where I grew up and where my best friends and family lives. Butttttt - if not for my hometown, South Lake Tahoe, or Florence, Italy.

35. What are the top three qualities that draw you to someone new?
Kindness, sense of humor, and calmness.
36. How has your birth order/characteristics of siblings affected you?
I'm the youngest, enough said.
37. If you could eliminate one weakness or limitation in your life, what would it be?
Limitation? The power to fly? Haha. Then I could go anywhere, anytime.
38. If you could restore one broken relationship, which would it be?
A girlfriend I had my sophomore and junior year of college. We had a falling out my junior year and I still think about her.
39. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
At this point in my life, I wouldn't. When I was younger and used to play, I always pretended my name was McKenzie and wanted my nickname to be Mac.
40. Do you believe ignorance is bliss? Why or why not?
In certain situations, yes. But not if it's lying, deception, or something that could actually hurt someone.
41. What do you consider unforgivable?
Probably nothing.
42. Have you forgiven yourself for past personal failures? Why or why not?
I think so? But I do dwell on things, so subconsciously, I probably haven't fully.
43. How difficult is it for you to forgive someone who refuses to apologize?
How can you do this?
44. Do you hold any convictions that you would be willing to die for?
My faith and my family.

45. To what extent do you trust people? Explain.
Pretty easily. This is probably both a good and a bad thing. But I like to think until I've been given a reason not too, I'm going to trust you. Being vulnerable is something that gives me life, so sharing with other people is how I get to know people the best.
46. In what area of your life are you immature?
Stupid jokes. Guys, sometimes Instagram memes have me rollling and Adam will look at me like I'm nuts but I can't stop laughing.
47. What was the best news you ever received?
Reading the pee stick that said -- Pregnant :)
48. How difficult is it for you to be honest, even when your words may be hurtful or unpopular?
Very hard. I don't do confrontation. See #16, #18, and #27.
49. When did you immediately click with someone you just met? Why? What was the long term result? Conversely, are you close with anyone now that you really disliked at first?
Well for one, Adam. We clicked immediately and made ourselves "official" 4 dates later. The long term result, 5 years of marriage :)
And yes, my two best friends, Coti and Whitney. Let's be totally honest, I was jealous of them both and "didn't like them." The long term result - we've been best friends for 20 years.
50. When do you find yourself singing?Pretty much everywhere. I'm really talented in the car, the shower, when singing to Quinnie, on walks, literally everywhere.
Okay, your turn! Go, tell me something good!
Adam and I took those colds back to Denver and Adam's unfortunately turned into the flu. At this point, everything has been disinfected, the cleaning ladies came yesterday, the sheets have been washed and things are shaping up.
Over the last few months, between Insta and this blog, I've been asked some of the same questions multiple times! I figured instead of answering them one-by-one, I'd just do one fun blog post. If you have more questions, make sure to leave them in the comments!

Let's get to know each other!
1 // WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RECIPE?
I get this one all the time. "I'm starting paleo, send me your favorite recipe." "My mom is coming in town, send me a great recipe." "What do you love cooking for Adam?" Adam is sweet and says he loves all my recipes bu these three are his favorite:
Paleo Mushroom Ravioli
Paleo Lasagna
Paleo Banana Bread
If you're looking for more awesome recipes, check the paleo tab. There are tons of delicious (and easy) recipes!
Lastly, great for a group? Beef Enchiladas. Make them with chicken. Add more cheese. Make three pans. Do wha you gotta do.
2 // ARE YOUR NAILS REAL?
This is a trick question. The easy answer? Yes. I get my nails done with hard gel. Think of shellac, but harder, I only have to get them done every four weeks instead of 2. The polish doesn't chip and I'm obsessed. My nail girl is incredible. The steps: file off the previous color and top layer of gel. Fresh layer of gel. Light. Polish. Light. Gel. Light. It takes a little longer than a regular manicure, but it also lasts 4 times as long. If you're in Denver, you can contact my nail girl Nicole by Insta or Facebook!

3 // HOW DO YOU CURL YOUR HAIR?
Let me start by saying, my big sis in college taught me how to curl my hair every day for over 2 weeks and I still had a hard time. If you've never curled hair before, it's a challenge. But you can do it! To start I use a Hot Tools Ceramic Curling Iron, size 1 1/2. I separate my hair into two parts, top and bottom. The tip - keep the curling iron straight up and down. Take a small piece of hair. I don't use big chunks, but thats preference. My hair curls better in smaller chunks. Curl the hair, leaving 1 inch out at the bottom, hold for 5-10 seconds, let go. Remember, keep the curling iron up and down, don't turn it sideways. When done, run fingers through hair to combine curls. I don't spray, but if you know your hair needs it, a light mist should do the trick!
4 // WHAT IS YOUR NEW JOB?
As many of you know, I used to be a practicing attorney. I graduated law school in 2013 and have been doing some version of practicing law since then. Late last year, I was offered a position to work for a startup. I was approached with the question, "Do you want to keep practicing law or do you want to try something new?" I had been struggling with whether or not I waned to keep practicing but I'm a creature of habit and switching jobs was terrifying to me. Adam and I sat down and really talked it out. We talked about our future goals, both personally, financially and with out family. We talked about how this would change my life for the good and bad. And at the end of the day, his whole goal, he wants me to be happy and do what I want. After we found out we lost the baby, life kind of changed for me. Priorities shifted and my ego that was telling me I had to stay a lawyer quickly dissipated. I knew I wanted a change. This new position allows me to work from home, have a little bit more flexibility and overall is a great change. I am the Director of Content and Sales for the startup. I'll let you guys in on more details once we launch, which is soon!
5 // HOW DO YOU MANAGE TWO DOGS?
Patience, a love for dogs, wine, a kennel and a partner to help you with the animals. I've had Henry since I graduated college. I am very used to life with a small dog who listens to pretty much everything I say. He's tiny, can travel with us and is so dang good. Enter Lola. My 30 pound wonder. She's so hyper, loves to exercise, is super emotional and is the sweetest dog.
My tips: 1) Introduce the dogs in a neutral place. 2) Have a partner who loves dogs and will help with the training, walking, feeding and loving on. 3) Have a strong kennel or gate to close them off so you can separate them when necessary (and separate them from you). 4) Stick to your training. Its very easy to let them sleep on the bed or get on the couch, but if you don't want that to happen, you gotta start early, even when they are cute little pups. 5) Reward 6) If you have big pups, exercise them. Built up energy is when they start acting out. 7) Love on them hard. Dogs are the greatest gift ever.
Happy Tuesday friends!! Get excited, Friday's bachelor blog is gonna be amazing. Did you guys watch last nights episode? Crazy town. And, we're just getting started.
Ps. If you have more questions, leave them in the comments!
That's why I do it. I started blogging because I honestly love to write things down and somewhere along the way, people started listening. I would do this whole blogging thing even if I only had 1 follower and that follower was my mom (she was my first follower, shout-out!).
I'm not a blogger who blogs about blogging. Wanna know why? Because, here's the deal; yes, I've been doing this a while. Yes, I've learned a tonnnn since I first started. Yes, I love sharing things with people (if they ask).
But, I think blogs that only tell you how to do things are incredibly boring. Listen, I appreciate this game of blogging and how it is ever changing and how I'm constantly having to figure new stuff out. But you readers come to this space for something and since I've never blogged about bogging, it cant be for that. Here's hoping its because you like what you find here.
So, today is not about teaching you how to blog, it's throwing it back to the good old days of blogging. Let's get back to the way blogging used to be. Lists of random facts. These are my favorite posts to write and to read comments on because I LOVE hearing what my readers think. And, it makes me feel like I actually know the people on the other side of the computer screen.
Without further ado --
1. My biggest fear in the entire world is that my animals will die. I know this is a bad fear because it will happen one day, but it doesn't change the fact that it absolutely terrifies me. One day I came home and Henry didn't come downstairs. I called Adam and made him come home from work early to check on Henry cause I was sure he was dead in the closet. True story.
2. My dad is my conscious. Everyone has that voice in the back of their head right? Well when I hear mine, its my dads voice. He's my voice of reason, it's slowly becoming mine, but he's the one that installed all those good vibes in me. Capeesh?
3. My go-to photo shoot face is a huge smile. I'm not sure what else to do. I am not one of those pretty girls who can smize. I'm one of those girls who always has a resting bitch face if I'm not smiling. I've been criticized for it before, but bleh, who cares.
4. I gave up drinking two weeks ago. Not forever, I actually plan on celebrating my sisters coming to town this weekend with adult beverages, but just for a while. And, I've lost weight! When they leave, I'm gonna give it up again. I've never felt clearer headed. Oh and my eating out bill is cheap!
5. I'm a jealous person. I didn't used to think this, probably because I was naive. But I'm a jealous person. I'm jealous of all kinds of random crap. Ask Coti, one time in college I got jealous of her old BFF and cried. It's the truth. It's stupid and it's something I work on every day.
6. I am very paranoid about letting people down. That's pretty self-explanatory. I got so nervous once I gave myself a cold sore, pretty huh.
7. I love celebrating love. A lot of people consider weddings to be a burden (time, travel, cost) but I absolutely love weddings, engagement parties, showers, and generally just parties. There is no greater honor than someone thinking you're worthy of watching them get married. I love it. Now, I just need some more engagements because we're out of weddings!
8. I'm ready to have kids. BAH. Betcha didn't see that one coming since all I talk about is animals. But, I'm ready to expand the Kavan clan (and no this isn't an announcement). But, I'm not getting any younger. Bring on the babes.
9. Turning 30 terrified me. I'm not sure why but I was so nervous to turn thirty. Once it happened, I couldn't believe how nervous I was for nothing. So far, 30 has been pretty dang awesome.
Tell me one thing no-one knows about you in the comments!
Happy Wednesday friends!
If you're here because you saw my intro post on Instagram, welcome! I love that you stopped by.
If you're a constant reader, welcome back!
A simple intro: My name is Kristen, wife to Adam, dog-mom to Henry and Lola. Henry and Lola are my kids, so no I do not have human babies (yet) but my heart and hands are full with my fur babies. My full time job is as an attorney, but my dream job is to be full time here, as a blogger. I live in Denver and am coming up on my 3 year anniversary here, which is nuts.
I'm a Jesus loving, champagne drinking, dog obsessed, TV lover, almost 30-year old girl who is finally starting to figure out my life. If you didn't get that subtlety, I am almost 30 and am still coming to grips for what that means for my life. All I know now is that I love the life I'm growing up in to. I think 30 is going to be great. I like being older.
I love to write about the good stuff, the bad stuff and the delicious stuff. I occasionally write about food, am getting better at instagraming clothes and I write a lot about the Bachelor.

- I only fly Southwest Airlines. In fact, I'm A-list, what what and today I'm jumping state lines to Nebraska for a little bachelorette fest.
A little quote for your weekend, "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company …a church …a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past …we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.”
Do you guys know Kaeleen From With Dignity and Coffee? Oh, you dont? That sucks. She rocks. Okay, so I don't personally know her, but I know that I read her blog daily and I love what I read. She's honest, hilarious and I think if we knew each other, we'd be great friends.
Like Kaeleen, I love Tay Swift. Throw shade, roll your eyes, I don't care. I am a proud Taylor Swift fan and I would die to be in her #squad. That girl has mastered music and she's getting a lot better at displaying her life in the public eye and dating in general. Or maybe she's just not talking about it as much.
Anywayssss. In case you missed in, Vogue interviewed Taylor in her house which is awesome. Taylor answered 72 questions in 3 minutes. It's amazing.
I really wish someone was interviewing me in my mansion in New York, but instead I'll just pretend that Anna Wintour is interviewing me and I'm offering her coffee. Here are my answers to Vogue's 73 questions.
PS. I only counted 69. What's wrong with me.
1 // What's keeping you busy these days?
Fixing up our new house, binge watching the People v. OJ and planning for San Diego!
2 // What's the most exciting thing in life right now?
42 // What's one blog post you wish you had written?
55 // What's the coolest thing in this room?
PS. Check out my new sponsor, Diana. She blogs over at Diana Elle Blog! Go show her all the love!
But, before I start I just want to say thanks to everyone who's reached out and welcomed me back. It makes me feel so happy to know so many people read my blog. I love this space and I'm so glad so many of you do too. So thanks, you all know how to make a girl feel good.
As you read in the reintroduction of me, I'm a 28 year-old Denver dweller, wife, dog-mama & blogger finding my way through this life. But that's all the boring stuff about me, let's make this interesting.
10 facts about me that most people don't know. I did this awhile ago and it was so fun!
- Currently my favorite show on TV is Hard Knocks on HBO (I can watch re-runs right?) and every episode of Law and Order SVU. I mean what's better than a night spent with JJ Watt and Mariska Hargitay?

Happy Birthday pops, I hope you have the best day. Thanks for being my role model, my friend, the one who walked me down the aisle and though life, the best teacher and the best dad in the world. I wouldn't be here today without your love and support. You've taught me how to be strong in the hard times and how to laugh in the good. That voice in my head telling me what's wrong and right is yours. I hope today you know and feel how loved you are. The world is a better place with you in it. I love you!
