What's up Wednesday!

July 31, 2019

Holy cow, tomorrow is AUGUST. Guys, I cannot process how quickly this year is going. It's honestly flying. I'm literally in the process of ordering Quinn's first birthday invitations and I cannot believe I am here already.

One of my favorite girls, Shay (Bachelor Sean Lowe's sister) writes the cutest blog and every Wednesday she does What's Up Wednesday and I just love it. There has been a lot going on over here in our household, so I thought, what a fun way to catch ya all up quick!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
I meal prep every week and this week was STELLAR. It was Adam's birthday Monday so I had to make it paleo and delicious. And, let's be real. I only meal plan until Thursday because #takeout.

Sunday: Asian inspired chicken salad
Monday: Caesar Steak Lettuce Cups with Lemon Potatoes + Paleo chocolate cake
Tuesday: Greek Chicken with Cucumber Salad
Wednesday: Kale Chicken Salad

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Lake Tahoe. It was the best trip spent with family and I cannot wait to go back.
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
That's its summer. I am a warm weather over cold weather ANY day. I am loving the warm nights, happy hour on patios, swinging at the park, picnics in our backyard, long walks, short hikes, and the long days.
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Honestly, this summer has flown. June was my birthday, parents visit, Lake Okoboji with friends, Tahoe, Adam's Birthday, more trips in August. It's gone v fast and life has been busy!
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
The unknown. There are some interesting things that may or may not come to fruition in the next few weeks regarding my job and I am afraid of the unknown. So, I'll keep you posted when I know more but yikes.

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
This Girl Life and really growing my blog and Instagram. I find that this space makes me really happy, so I've been very intentional about spending time here. PS> This Girl Life is BACK next Tuesday so if you haven't already, you should subscribe and follow us! You can subscribe on iTunes here or follow us here!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Quinn's first birthday. I can't wait to show you the theme and the decor! It's going to be SO cute!

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Currently loving Love Island. If you haven't watched this very trashy show, you should. Also, Billions, Friends, Bachelorette (just ended), and Big Little Lies.

I'm currently reading Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman. So far SO good.
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
I'm back on my Maren Morris kick. I'm so obsessed with her.
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
Everything Evereve. This cardigan is my favorite and ON SALE for $29!

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Adam is racing in the Spartan Race so Quinnie and I are having a girls weekend!
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
A trip to Arizona!! My sweet godson/nephew is turning FIVE!
13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Gosh, nothing really. You know those periods in your life when you are in the grind? Like, Adam and I are just pushing through. Work is crazy for both of us, Quinnie is a busy bee and we're just holding our ground. We're working hard, loving hard and just trying to enjoy Quinnie's sweet little self.

Eco Pea Diapers

July 23, 2019

As a mom, I'm just trying to do the best I can. Isn't that what we're all trying to do? One thing I'm conscious of is my use of diapers. My gosh, we go through a lot of diapers. It's something I think about every time I change little Q baby. One, are the diapers I'm using the safest for her, and her skin? Second, where are all these diapers going?!

I found relief when I found Eco Pea. Their mission is incredible. Not only are their diapers safer for babies (no harmful ingredients or fragrances), but they are so soft and they are easier to decompose, so safer for our environment. Win.

PS. I have a discount code for you! Use code kgrace01 to get $5 off your first order!

About Eco Pea:
Eco Pea was founded by a rambunctious family of five from the West Coast.  Eco Pea Diapers and wipes are dermatologist approved and are both hypoallergenic and antibacterial.  They contain no harmful ingredients and no added fragrance.  They are made responsibly using bamboo and manufactured in a certified facility.  You can rest easy knowing your child is less likely to have a reaction compared to regular diapers.

In just 2-3 months, a Eco Pea diaper will be more than half degraded.  Compare that to regular diapers which take 500 years to decompose, you can see why we're proud of our diapers and feel it's a huge step in the right direction.  And guess what?  Our wipes are already there.  They are 100% biodegradable!

The details:
  • Hypoallergenic & Antibacterial
  • Eco-Diapers: 100% Biodegradable Bamboo Sheets
  • TCF (Totally Chlorine Free)
  • No Nasty Chemicals - 0% Phthalates, Dioxin, Alcohol, Latex
  • Fragrance-Free and Odor Resistant
  • Super Absorbent Core
  • Wetness Indicator
  • Natural Nourishing Aloe
  • Incredibly Soft
  • Size Label (Helpful when you have multiple kids)

Review: Ceramedx + a Giveaway!

July 19, 2019

Let's chat skincare. Post pregnancy has been rough for my skin. Before I got pregnant, I had a pretty good control on my skin. During pregnancy, my skin was a mess, and post pregnancy, I've been on a journey to find a great skin care (for both my face AND my body!).

Guys, I think I've found it! I never had sensitive skin before I had Quinnie, but after, it's more susceptible to everything. I knew I needed to find a product that cleansed my skin, but didn't hurt it. You know what I'm talking about. There are so many products on the market that hurt your skin, they make it red, extra dry, or make it break out even more.

Luckily for you guys, I found the best skin care routine. Ceramedx is a natural ceramide therapy system for dry and sensitive skin. Thanks to Denver, I need all the help with my dry skin. All their products contain plant based ingredients that not only moisturize, but sooth. PS. This product is awesome, so I'm partnering with Ceramedx to give you THREE of their products. Enter below!

Hey, this is where I tell you that this is a sponsored post. I was gifted this product by Ceramedx, but in the spirit of writing honestly, all comments and thoughts are purely my own. I really do use Ceramedx!

The thing I love about this product is it involves three (very easy!) steps.
  • First, you use the Extra Gentle Cleanser. It's fragrance free, sulfate free and perfect for very dry, sensitive skin. I can actually feel it cleaning my skin and getting all the stuff off.
  • Second, you use the Restoring Body Lotion all over. It's great for everyday use!
  • Third, if you are extra dry, use the Ultra Moisturizing Cream on those super dry spots. Think elbows, feet and hands!

One thing I love about these products is there is no smell. None. And, it's not greasy. Usually when you hear a product is geared towards dry skin, it means it's going to make me greasy - this is NOT the case. Guys, let's be real, this stuff is magic.

Here are the details: Ceramedx is formulated with Riceramide-3 Complex, an exclusive blend of ceramides derived from rice, bran, botanical cholesterol and fatty acid extracts that mimic the moisture and protection barrier already found in your skin. It's free of fragrances (bless), is clinically tested, and dermatologist recommended.

Alright, so I can't keep these amazing products to myself. Ceramedx is so generous and is giving one of you LUCKY readers all THREE of these products. You know you wanna enter!

It's giveaway time!

My new Lunettos Sunglasses

July 15, 2019

We leave for Tahoe in THREE glorious days. Guys, I can hardly wait any longer. This is a trip my family has been taking since I was 8 years old. We stay at the same house, on the same beach. We have our favorite restaurants, bars, and boats and its honestly one of the most special places in the world.

I remember when I first brought Adam. It was almost as special as bringing him home to Arizona. I was so excited to show him this place that is so special to me and this year we get to take Quinnie! I'm so darn pumped. Get prepared to be spammed with Instagram pictures and stories. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Well since we're headed to the beach, full of sunshine, this gf needed some new glasses. And, am I right when I say everyone loves a new pair of sunglasses? If you wear contacts or glasses like I do, there is NOTHING better than prescription sunglasses!

Discount Glasses has been my go to lately for a bunch of reasons. They have a great selection, they make it easy to order (even with prescription) and they are affordable! I don't know about you but spending $100s on sunglasses or glasses just seems like a waste. Especially when the trends change so quickly.

Bonus for ya - free shipping and free returns. What are you waiting for? You gotta get yourself some new glasses. Here is the link to the pair I got!

Happy Monday friends! I hope you're having the best day!

Quinn Grace: 10 Months

July 11, 2019

Quinn is TEN months old! DOUBLE DIGITS. Don't mind me, I'll just be over here crying and looking at videos of my baby, because now she is a big girl.

Cheers to my 10-month old babe. The last 10 months have honestly been the sweetest of my life. Albeit challenging at times, being Quinnie's mom is the best thing in the entire world. She is happy, sweet, loving, cuddly, spicy, and so dang cute.

Size: At our 9-month appointment, she was 20.4 pounds (88%), 28 inches long (86%), and 19 inches head (97%!)

Likes:
  • Crawling! GF is on the move and loves it. She is all over our house.
  • Lola and Henry
  • Her sippy cup.
  • Blowing kisses to anyone and everyone
  • Big kids - even if they are only a little bit older, she is in awe of big kids
  • Her Zebra walker.
  • Her elephant lovey - and honestly, i love it too. It's so cute and soft. She can't sleep without it.
  • Waiving to everyone. She now says hi and bye too!
  • Her Hug-a-Bible
  • Walks. We go on a long walk every day and it's her favorite time of day.
  • Clapping and yelling yayyyyy!
  • The bath. If we let her, she would stay in the bath forever.
Dislikes
  • Hats
  • Splash day. At school, they put her under a sprinkler haha and she hates it. (I don't blame her, I hate getting splashed too).
Thats about it -- gf loves pretty much anything!

Firsts:
  • Crawling!
  • Pulling herself up on everything!
  • Pneumonia! So sad.
  • First Father's Day!
  • Moms first birthday with a baby!
  • Lake Okoboji with our best friends.
  • First Fourth of July!
  • Saying hi and bye
Current Routine & Sleep:
  • 7am: Up and nurse
  • 745am: Breakfast and play
  • 9am: Nap
  • 11am: Nurse
  • 12pm: Lunch and play!
  • 2pm: Nap
  • 3pm: Big snack (We just weened this nursing! Cue the tears!)
  • 5pm: Mini-nap
  • 6pm: Dinner
  • 7pm: Bath, nurse and bed
Things to Remember:
  • How much she loves her dad. Whenever we are all home together, she is all about him. Their bond is the most precious thing in the world.
  • Her crawling and exploring her world. She is so curious.
  • Her giggle. When the dogs lick her, when we play peek-a-boo, when you tickle her, basically anything.
  • Her wink.
  • She claps and says "yayyyyyy" - she's cheering for herself. I hope she always has that attitude.
Q baby is honestly the best. She's the happiest, sweetest little girl. Each day with her is better than the last. We go to Tahoe next week and I cannot wait to show her my favorite place in the world.
