I am very bogged down right now. Normally I'm a great multi-tasker. If I write it in my planner, I get it done and there's no fuss. However, this semester, school is absolute madness. I'm busier than I've ever been and I'm getting bogged down. It feels like there's no light at the end of the tunnel, but I just keep telling myself the best is yet to come. Yes, I'm stuck in the middle of my last semester, deep in trial team, legal writing, work and then all the fun social things that come with being 25, even though I feel like those things are limited due to all the things I "have" to do. But, in 47 days I'll be in KC for my bests bachelorette party, in 82 days I graduate, in 103 days my best gets married (and its my bday!) and in 157 days the bar exam will be over! I just keep telling myself, the best is yet to come, because it's easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day. But, the best is yet to come, I promise, the best is yet to come.
Today, my best friend Whitney starts her new job as a nurse!! I'm so proud! She's going to be the cutest nurse around town. Good luck Whitty! You're doing what you were made to do and I am so proud of you! I can't wait to hear all the details!

something to motivate you, something to inspire you

So, last Thursday we had the craziest snow storm everrrr (at least in my knowledge of snow storms). It was super fun. Everyone knew this storm was coming, so there was a lot of stocking up with groceries, classes were cancelled, even work called people off as they prepared to tuck in for the evening. The snow started around 1130am and didn't stop until the next morning! Overall we got about 10 inches! It was crazy, but oh so fun, to know I had nothing to do and nowhere to be all day! So, Adam and I made dinner at home, caught up on TV shows and ate way to much junk food. I hope all the mid-westerners who were snowed in had fun, and all those who aren't, I hope you get a snow day one day :) I hope you all have a great week!
This is the view from my apartment about 4 hours into the storm!
I love this quote. I think it is powerful in the sense that it gives us the ability to control (some) part of our path, our lives and our outlooks. I've been pretty sick (nothing serious) this past weekend and it's easy, when you feel like crap, to act like crap. It's easy to look at happy, healthy, smiley people and be angry. It's easy to play the "why me" game. But tomorrow, though it's going to be rough, I'm going to wake up and chose to be happy. Because, at the end of the day, I've got friends and family by my side, I live in a great city, go to a wonderful school, have the best dog and don't have much to complain about. So, here's to everyone choosing to be happy despite circumstances that might lead us elsewhere. We have the power, we just have to chose to use it.
"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
"Do you think I'm wonderful? she asked him one day as they leaned against the trunk of a petrified maple. No, he said. Why? Because so many girls are wonderful. I imagine hundreds of men have called their loves wonderful today, and it's only noon. You couldn't be something that hundreds of others are."
