Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's no surprise that I love Valentine's Day. Most people say it's over-rated, it's a Hallmark holiday or it's a chance to eat too expensive of a dinner. But hey, any chance to celebrate all the people I love is a good holiday and a good reason to me. To my forever love, my fiancé, my best friend, Adam, to my amazing, incredible family, my gorgeous friends... I love you, thank you for loving me back. To all the Valentine's Day nay-sayers, I hope you celebrate the love you have in your life, regardless of the amount of roses, chocolate or wine you have. And remember, you are loved.
We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
Oh, Valentines Day.
I would say the opinion of Valentine's Day is split 50/50 with more leaning towards not liking it than liking it. I get it. People think it's Hallmarks holiday - that its too commercial and that "if you love someone everyday should be valentines day."
And sure, while I agree with some of those sentiments, I think it's also such a great holiday to remind everyone, not just a significant other, that you love them. And, hey, I love chocolate, flowers and a good dinner. So, I can't really hate.
But, hey, I'm a newly-wed and this is a Letter to My Forever Valentine. When we got married we chose to do traditional vows, which left out any room for improv. This is my little way of telling Adam all those things I promise to him.

- I promise to never say no to pizza.
- I promise to always fold your undershirts.
- I promise to cheer for your football team, basketball team, hockey team, baseball team and whatever other team you want as long as I have wine.
- I promise not to buy coconut flavored La Croix. Who really likes those anyways.
- I promise to never make you watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or any other housewife show.
- I promise to only make cauliflower rice every other month so you don't have to smell it.
- I promise to sit with you at the bar on Saturday when one of the aforementioned teams is playing, as long as there are nachos, wings and beer.
- I promise to always try and make you laugh.
- I promise to only ask you to take pictures of me for the blog on occasion.
- I promise to go skiing with you once my ACL is healed.
- I promise to leave you all the coconut Lara bars and to eat all the cherry ones.
- I promise to watch Game of Thrones with you as long as it is on TV.
- I promise to always hate the Yankees and love the Red Sox.
- I promise that even though you want to name our kid Henry, I won't let you. [side-note readers - our dogs name is Henry and I'm not pregnant]
- I promise you that when you're old, I won't let you wear berets like that guy we saw in the grocery store.
- I promise to love you always.
What are you thoughts on Valentine's Day? Did you write a post about it? I wanna see it!

On Episode 44, it's a solo episode as Whitney & Kristen go guestless! The girls are sharing about how to work smarter not harder and what slowing down will actually do for your life. We are all constantly hustling to grow our spaces and careers, but that hustle lifestyle can easily cause burn out and frustration. So we are chilling out this week and re-focusing on the how amazing slow down can be.

We wanted to take a pause to tell you about Bloom Journals! They are monthly journals dedicated to your self- care. You know how we feel about self care here on TGL— it’s a top priority for us. Bloom is a monthly themed journal; the theme and focus changes every single month, so you’re consistently growing and developing. Kristen and I truly believe that journaling is a powerful ways to reconnect with yourself, release your emotions, reflect, and ‘bloom’ to a new you. Here are all the deets- their current journal available for Feb is on point with everything we chat about on TGL... it’s focused on self-love, and putting yourself first again, learning what is triggering negative beliefs about yourself, and setting weekly goals to keep you moving forward on your self love journey in 2020. I know what you’re thinking. How do you get yourself a bloom journal? They have a membership where you pay $17.95/month and every month they send you your new journal. We did a little math and basically one month of Bloom is the same cost of 4 iced grande caramel macchiatos from Starbucks. So as we say here on TGL, put your self care and mental health before the Starbucks and try bloom journals now!

I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not... and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home. One more thing... Starbucks came out with their fabulous Valentine's Day cups and I love this years theme. "Celebrate everylove." What a good reminder this year. Happy Valentines Day everyone. Whether it be with a loved one, a best friend or just yourself... remember to celebrate everylove.
