If there is a trend I miss, it's fanny packs. Especially as a mom, being hands free is imperative to my sanity. Ya know what other trend I want to bring back? Socks and sandals. Come at me, in this phase of my life I am all about comfort. I want to be able to quickly handle Quinn, while doing it with ease and a little style.
When I learned about Fusion Belts I knew I needed to try them out. Plus, they are very cute. They have such cute styles, colors and they are so comfy. They are the anti-fanny pack and I am HERE FOR IT.
I told you a while back I wouldn't endorse things I don't like, which is why I LOVE sharing this with you. When I was wearing it and having Adam take my pictures, he even commented on how cool they were.
Why Buy A Fusion Belt? Because ... they are great for travel, running, exercise, sporting events, concerts, theme parks, and anywhere you want to be hands-free! Made of the highest quality,

Do you need more convincing? They are cute, easy to put on, store everything from a cell phone, ID, credit card, keys and yes, I even fit a diaper in the pouch. Happy Wednesday friends! This week is flying for me. I'm pretty sure it's because my parents were here this weekend and were here until Monday, so it kinda feels like the weekend extended to Monday. But now, it's Wednesday and we are officially half way through the week.
It is stunning in Denver today. Yesterday it was snowing, today it's sunny, pretty dang cold but sunny. If you've never seen a sunny city the day after it snows, you are missing out. It glistens in the prettiest way. Sometimes it makes driving in the sunshine impossible, but dang.
If you're not familiar with Denver, the weather catch phrase is "If you don't like the weather in Colorado, wait 5 minutes." That statement is ringing very true this April and we're only 5 days in.
Can we talk about New Balance by J.Crew? I've been obsessed with J. Crew since forever and then you throw amazing workout clothes in there, sold. The best part about these leggings, they are so stretchy, so comfy and the cutest. Ps. Don't miss, today is your LAST day to enter the Lush Cosmetics giveaway! Free stuff people.
The best part about the mix of snow and sun is now everything is blooming; my tulips are coming up and my allergies are driving me nuts. But, spring is coming and I'm so excited. The spring brings so much new good stuff. It feels like someone hit a big restart button. The dreary winter is over and it's time to celebrate and good. Let's talk about it.
These are some of my favorite spring things and what I'm looking forward to most:

- Spring cleaning! This might sound crazy, but I am ready to cleanse my house. That means going through closets, basements, storage rooms and the garage. If you know of any good donation places besides Goodwill, let me know!
- My brother-in-law is getting married this spring, in two weeks actually! My best friends Callie and Kate are getting married this summer! Adam's best friend is getting married in August! It is a spring/summer of love people.
- Those two best friends of mine are also having their Bachelorette parties! That means on weekend in Austin, one in Sonoma - I see you bachelorettes.
- I turn T H I R T Y in 64 days! More on all the big plans for 30.
- Rockies games. The Rockies are home this weekend and I'm so excited for beer, hot dogs and sunshine.
- Beauty and the Beast. This was my favorite Disney movie ever when I was a kid. Adam is out of town in a few weekends and I plan on grabbing a bottle of wine and seeing it alllll by myself in one of those theaters with the comfy chairs, free popcorn and wine. Have you guys seen it? What did you think? Also, do you think I'm allowed to sing along?
- Running. I've always wanted to become a runner but let's be real, I suck at it. Better weather means another time to try running. Tips? Send them please?
- Happy hours with friends on the patio. Is there anything better than a cold cocktail in the sunshine.
- Henry turns 8, Lola turns 1, Adam turns 31 and I turn 30. Big year all around.
- Blog photo shoots. I had my first one a few weeks ago and I think the pictures are only gonna get better. At least I hope they are only going to get better.
- Bachelor in Paradise. I don't care what you say, I'm pumped. And Raven is going to Paradise and I'm so excited to see her again.
- Our 2 year wedding anniversary! I cannot wait to share our weekend getaway!
- Estes Park. The best thing about Colorado is there are so many places to visit at all times. I've never been to Estes and this summer Adams fam is coming out to Estes for a getaway. I cannot wait to hike Rocky Mountain National Park and spend some time in a new place.

Photoshoots are so awkward, but luckily for me,
I had a great photog who made me do poses like this and laugh.
Sitting on train tracks that run through downtown Denver.
Sounds like the best spring day to me.

Happy April, Happy Spring everyone! I hope you have the best month.
I know I told you today's post was gonna be a blogger behind the scenes, but ya know what, I have something even better. PS Happy Friday friends!
I took my first Cycle Bar class on Wednesday night. I'm still learning to walk again. My friend I take Pure Barre with invited me to go with her and I happily obliged. I love trying new workout classes. I used to take spin at my gym in Omaha and LOVED it. I bought my free class online (Denver friends, it's free for your first class, click here!), picked my bike, 3rd row, middle, I didn't want to look too eager. I put my leggings on and I was off.
I was so excited/nervous. I called Adam on my way to discuss the class and he just reassured me "you used to do this all the time, you'll be great." Famous last words right there.
Let me preface, this is not just a spin class at your local gym. This is that gym spin class on speed. Not only is this an entire building dedicated to spin, so are the instructors and everything else. Water bottles, check. Clothing, check. Shoes, check. Bumper Sticker, check
I walked in and was greeted by literally the nicest people ever. Maybe this is what spin does to people, if so, count me in. They showed me how to check in, where to change and offered me a free water bottle and gave me some shoes.
I changed, found my locker, found my friend and in we went to the cycling room.
Lets just chat about the cycling room. It is pretty damn intimidating. There are about 40 bikes set up in four staggered rows. It's semi-dark in there with huge flat screens on the wall and then a platform where presumably the instructor teaches from. The room is semi-dark with loud music playing. The front wall is a full mirror and the rest are dark. There is also, what I can only assume to be, a DJ booth. I'm serious, it looks like a DJ booth.
My friend walks me to our bikes and tells me to wait, the instructor will help me set up. Thank god I went with a friend.
Someone walks over to me offering to help. She sets up my bike (turns out I'm tall? who knew) and tries to help me clip in. Apparently I'm a do-do bird and clipping bike shoes into a stationary bike is rocket science for me. I "clip in." Just then, this bouncy, adorable blonde with a backward hat and the most toned arms I've ever seen. comes in and is our teacher. Guys, you should seriously see her, she was beautiful. She puts her Britney spears mic on, turns the lights off and we start.
The music is so loud. The room is so dark and in brutal honestly, it takes a minute to adjust. But we are going. I am spinning.
My first thought, oh yeah, I can do this. My second thought. 4 minutes in, I am drenched in sweat and panting.
Oh and turns out, my left foot isn't clipped in. Do you know how hard it is to attempt 128 RPM's when your leg, which happens to be your knee surgery leg is just kinda flallying around. Whatever, I am not a quitter. This class is only 50 minutes, I'll fake it until I make it.
I'm looking down, attempting 128 RPMs, when I realize the lights go on and the teacher is no longer on her bike, she's standing in front of me asking about my shoe. I am totally mortified. She takes my foot, clips me in and jumps back on the bike, no big deal. Thank the lord it was dark in there and people couldn't see me blushing.
I must admit, this spin class was the fastest 50 minutes of my life. Before I knew it, she was doing the 90 second countdown, telling us how strong we were and turning the lights on. Then, she did it, my biggest fear. On the big screens, she put up our rankings. There were probably 25 people in the class and the rankings only included the top 15. I scrolled for a name that wasn't there. Whatever, it was over, just like that. I took my first spin class post knee surgery and man did I feel good.
I immediately found myself wanting to sign up for the next class. It was incredible. I now see why people get addicted to this sport.
Then, I left. I went home, felt good. Showered, felt good. Went to bed, felt strong. Woke up, felt like someone threw me down the stairs.
I cannot wait to go back. Have you taken a spin class before? Was your experience similar?

Up, down, side to side, this sounds like the start to that Ariana Grande song, hence why shes on a bike I guess. This girl makes it look so easy. I literally felt like I was going to fling myself off the front of the bike. I'm pretty sure I felt it tip at one point.
We did some arm workouts, sprints, jogs, hills, at one point, she even claimed that we should feel the breeze in our hair going down a hill. I would have killed for some breeze as struggled to go 50 RPMs. Instead all I felt was the sweat dripping down by back. Oh thank goodness for the free towel.

Happy Friday everyone! Today's post comes from Aishah over at Grains&Gains! Working out has been something I've recently come to love and this post has some great tips whether you're an expert worker-out-er, a newbie or someone who just needs some inspiration today! If you want to learn more abut Aishah, go check her out on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!
Never let your circumstances be a weight that pulls you down; use them to be a weight that helps you develop your strengths. The sad reality of society today is many of us to start exercising and eating well; we want to join the gym, eat healthier and look good. One of the major problems I have heard many complain of is how expensive it is to join a gym. Girls like myself, who want to train and exercise in female only environments, find it even more difficult given the limited places there are available that offer this service. Many of us have loads of commitment: work, kids, school, and university. It is not always feasible to find time to travel and pay for an expensive gym to work out. We often see motivational quotes telling us to be more productive with our time; productivity does not mean the day will have more than 24 hours!
I have come up with 10 easy ways to build up habits that will
add to your fitness. These are great for those who are starting out their
fitness journey and are equally beneficial to those who want to develop a fit
lifestyle outside of the gym! All are feasible, easy and on a budget. Pick one
each week or fortnight and develop it slowly into your way of life! Let me know
what you choose and how you get on!
10 Tips to get into tip, top
shape!
1. Change of route!
If you are one of those people who takes a bus to work or
school, why not walk instead? If not to and fro, maybe just on your way home.
If the journey is too far to do this, perhaps get off a few stop earlier so you
get a 5-10 minute walk out. Gradually build it up so you are getting off
earlier each fortnight to help increase the amount of walking you do. Equally,
be honest with yourself if you are a driver; do you really need to drive to the
corner shop or cinema or post office? Save the petrol and kill some calories!
2. Stairs vs. lift!
Do not be that person who takes the lift/ elevator for one
floor! Walk the stairs regardless of what you are carrying and how many floors
you are going up (though if you are carrying a piano, I think the lift is a
valid means of transport!). This is a great bit of exercise that does not
require much effort; sometimes the time it takes me to wait for the lift at
university, I could have walked up and down the stairs 5 times!
3. Do your chores!
Turn those daily chores into a workout! Give yourself a set time
for cleaning the whole kitchen or bathroom without taking any rest. Sprint your
way through washing the car; set a personal best and aim to break it each time.
Never forgetting the actual cleaning part of course!
4. Do a good deed!
So many of us have elderly neighbours, often whom live on their
own. In conjunction with number 3, offer to do their cleaning, gardening or
shopping for them. If you have no elderly neighbours, offer to babysit for your
family and friends. Kids do nothing but keep you on your toes. Do a good deed
and crop that waist line!
5. Fit-alise!
Maybe not my best invented word, but use some of your
social activities as a form of exercise. If you have a games console, buy games
that require you to get up and be on your feet [would insert examples if I was
a games geek, evidently not!]. This is a great way of bring social interaction
and exercise together. Get your children, partner, siblings or friends on
board!
6. Home sweet home!
There are loads of workouts that can be found on youtube – easy,
simple and suitable for beginners. This is great for those who want to save on
money or have not got a suitable gym near them. One of my favourites is Fitness Blender; check them out and see what you
think. It is also a good idea to invest in some basic home exercise essentials,
such as a stability ball and exercise mat, to push your exercise one step
further. Start of with simple workouts that you can easily fit into your
schedule and build on that.
7. Multitask!
We really are busy people and, on some occasions, can not find
enough time for a full workout. Sometimes, I do 3 sets of 10 squats in my
kitchen whilst I am waiting for my eggs to boil. In the adverts between
your favourite TV show, do continuous jumping jacks. For each shirt and
trousers you iron, do 5 push ups. Blending in your exercise with daily
activities can make it easier to make exercise workouts seem less daunting and
time consuming. A mansion is not built in one day; slow progress is better than
none.
8. The great outdoors!
Our best gym is indeed free. Become a lover of the outdoors and
go for a run or walk in your local park. If you have any interesting walking
trails or hikes in your local area or somewhere easy to get to, do it! Organise
a day trip with friends to places further out – another great way to fit-alise!
9. Car park tragedy!
Those who drive are lucky – no smelly armpits on the train or
bus. Though, amongst drivers there is a deep desire to have the parking spot
closest to their destination. STOP! Inconvenience yourself and park the
furthest away you can. Force yourself to walk with your 10 bags of shopping to
the corner of the car park. Sweat off the calories before you even eat them!
10. Back to class!
Look for local fitness classes – zumba, yoga, gymnastics,
karate, kickboxing. Find groups that go different sports. There are so many
different activities you could be part of; be active, be cool and get involved!
Final, important words: Do things
you enjoy, be happy and don’t push yourself too far. The body has limits, know
yourself and build from there! Though looking at other people’s achievements is
great for motivation, be balanced in how you take things on board; do not
belittle yourself due to other people’s success and do not pressure yourself to
obtain the same. Enjoy your fitness journey and take small steps to build
sustainable habits! Also, have fun :)
Alright blogland, here is the hardest Callie workout yet. 12 hard minutes of intense cardio, you will be sweating after this one! In Callie's words, "Take care of your body because every day, it does so much for you." Happy Thursday everyone!
Callie is at it again! I hope you all are enjoying her weekly workouts, because I sure am! This workout is a cardio workout that involves some jumping! The 4 moves are squat jumps, in and outs (not the restaurant!), plank, and swivel break dance move! If you're one of those people that doesn't love working out, Callie's videos are perfect for you! She shows you the moves, explains them and does them with you! Enjoy enjoy and sweat it out!
It's like Callie read my mind last week. I talk about working out my arms, and here is a perfect video to do just that! I hope she inspires you to work out your arms, because look at her guns! This video is great because she teaches you the workout and then does it with you! Enjoy people!
Hey everybody, let's work out! Here's your weekly Callie workout session and this is a good one! In my wedding prep, I've been working on my arms a lot, because, lets be real, everyone wants nice toned arms in their dress! If that applies to you, then get ready, because this is a great workout for you! Callie is amazing because she shows you the right and wrong way to do the workouts in this video, which I found SO incredibly helpful. Get ready people, you will be sweating after this one!
Thanks again for making all these videos Callie!
Workout #2! Callie never ceases to amaze me. Like I told you the last time, Callie is a teacher, and a fabulous one at that. Trust me, I've heard the songs she makes up for her classroom and teaches to all her kids. She's the teacher all teachers should aspire to be. On top of being the best teacher, she has time to workout like this, and make videos! She makes these videos for her class and people at her school to help them work out! She's a saint, if you ask me. Go watch her video!
"Here is another workout video! I do the first set with you on camera! You need a bench or a step or some raised, stable object! You do two more sets after my video ends and the total workout time will be 12 minutes! I continued the workout and by the end, I was sweaty and out of breath! I hope you enjoy!" --Callie
My friend (and future bridesmaid) Callie is the one who started me on the paleo diet. If you ever have the blessing to meet Callie, (1) she is beautiful, both inside and out and (2) she has the most energy of anyone I've ever met. We were just on vacation and she was telling me about paleo and how it's a lifestyle not just a diet. So, based on our conversation I decided to give it a whirl. So, I owe her the last month of my life because our conversation changed my life for the better. One thing Callie does in addition to teach school, cook paleo, be a girlfriend, friend and daughter, is she works hard on her body. She recently started sharing some of her workout tips via youtube and I thought it would be fun to share those videos with you! She does HIIT (high intensity interval training). She chooses 4 exercises and does them for 45 seconds with 15 seconds off and repeats this 3 times. Trust me, when you see Callie's bod, you'll be doing HIIT 10x a day!
HIIT gets your heart rate up faster than a 30 minute cardio session at an even pass and you burn more calories throughout the day. It's my favorite form of exercise when I'm tight on time, which is most days! --Callie
I hope you all enjoy her videos, they're great and super helpful! If there are any specific types of workouts you want to see or have instructions for, let me know and I'll have Callie make some more videos! Enjoy your workout!
