Oh hey Wednesday! How the heck are ya? We're halfway through the week and I'm already dreaming of the weekend! We're enjoying our last few weekends just the two of us. Going out to dinners, brunches, wandering bookstores and enjoying our time together. It's crazy that everything is about to change, so we're enjoying our current normal while we have the time.

Truth be told, life gets busy. And in the midst of that constant busyness it's easy to get caught in the mundane and forget to look at the good stuff, the more important stuff. Some of this stuff is actually important and some is just so dang good.

ONE // I posted this on my Insta-stories a while back. I'm super lucky to have amazing mama mentors in my life. In the midst of figuring out what I'm going to do with this baby and how I'm going to do it, I lost track of the fact that He already knows how this will all play out. Leaning into Him a little tighter as we get closer to our due date.

TWO //  Never look at Nordstrom Baby when you're on a spending freeze because you'll find all the things you shouldn't buy.

THREE // Younger finally gave me everything I needed. I've told you once and twice and three times but this show is so dang good. Stop everything and binge watch this show. Trust me people. Then, when you're done binge watching, let me know if you're #TeamCharles or #TeamJosh.



FOUR // I Think You can, I Think You Can. My gf Chelsea wrote this blog post and I love it. She's inspiration when I need it the most and encouragement when you're feeling down. Stop what you're doing and read it. You'll love it, plus its short. And while you're at it, tell your girlfriends how awesome they are. Supporting other girls is always cool.

FIVE // Bachelor in Paradise is back and honestly I'm much more excited about this show than I was Becca's season of the Bachelor. I totally dig the drama on this show. It's so ridiculous it's good. But, can we talk about Tia and Colton. I mean she says his name 100x within 2 hours, goes on dates with other guys and then kisses him. This is the kind of drama I live for peeps.
SIX // These grandparents kicking butt being grandparents and these kids who I can only hope influence my daughter. Read the post here.

SEVEN // Carrie Underwood is pregnant and she announced her tour. Talk about best day of my life. And she's not coming to Denver until next September meaning I'll have a ONE-YEAR old, meaning I can go. God Bless us all and Carrie Underwood.

 

Last night as I was laying in bed writing this post, I showed Adam the picture I was putting on my Instagram and asked him if he thought it was cute. His response, "...super cute." I asked why he paused and he said, "You usually don't wear any color, so it's nice to see you in bright yellow." Welp, there ya have it people, even my husband recognizes how much I love black, and how much I need to branch out.



And, per my new years resolution, I was trying to wear more color this year, but apparently I'm failing. Resolutions start over every day right? I'll try again tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday! Today, I walked in the office and said Happy Wednesday to my co-worker and she looked at me like I was nuts and said, "Uh, Kristen, it's only Tuesday." Damn! Isn't that the worst feeling? I seriously thought it was Wednesday, which now means, my trip to Omaha and the weekend is one day further away than I thought this am.

When I was first approached by Ellie Kai, I was pumped! I love their stuff and I was so honored they wanted me to model their shirt! PS. Disclosure: I got this shirt for free, but my love for it is 100% authentic.

I love a good tank that doubles as a work shirt and a going out shirt. Today, I'm showing you some of my favorite ways to style this shirt. Please remember, 1) I am an attorney, so pencil skirts are my go-to and 2) black is my favorite color. When I wore this to work the other day, my boss said, "yellow uh?" This all black thing seems to be a problem.


I heard something on the radio the other day and the guy talking said, "Why is is so easy to degrade people, diminish accomplishments or be rude, when it's so much better to be good?" Whoa. Right? Like, why is it easier for me to complain that the barista messed up my americano, than to grab a manager and compliment the barista when it's super delicious? Why do I follow girls on Instagram that drive me nuts, when there are tons of others to follow that will inspire.

Maybe it's our self-degrading nature. Maybe it's sin. Maybe it's us. Today, I'm focusing on the super good and the super important things in life. I'm making it my goal to pick out the good, not bad. Remember, we are in control our of own happiness. Let's start acting like it. Let's check out all the good stuff going on in the world. Maybe, if just for a minute, we can forget the bad.

4. Bloopers are the best. This weekend my dear friend Ryann took hours out of her Saturday to take pictures with me. Ryann is a mama to a 6 month old, wife, lover of Jesus and a great friend. I am so grateful for her and her picture taking skills. I'm lucky for Ryann and all my best girls.

5. The cutest little lady named Winnie, living in England was celebrating her 100th birthday with no family. However, thousands of strangers sent her birthday cards, 16,000 to be exact. A radio station sponsored a surprise birthday party for her, complete with gifts refreshments and cards. What a jem. PS What do we think about Winnie for a baby name? Too Wonder Years?

6. Three years ago today I passed the Iowa Bar Exam. Thanks to Facebook I get to remember some amazing memories. THAT is a great memory. I remember, it was three days before we moved to Colorado and I was in my in-laws home with my mother in law. I was using her ipad, watching GMA and I kept refreshing the page. When it clicked, I totally skipped my name and assumed I failed. Then I got the text from B that all three of us (my best friends and I) had passed. My mother-in-law poured the champs and that was the first of many glasses that day. Oh, what a day.

7. A North Caroline Sheriff's deputy was challenged by a young boy to a dance off. It was a running man dance off and is the cutest thing you'll see all day. You can watch the video here. In the same spectrum as cops, a little 7 year old boy with an incurable brain tumor got initiated at the Dallas Police Department as a detective. He was greeted at the station with the full royal treatment. He received a uniform and a badge. Be still my heart.

8. My brother-in-law is getting married this weekend. Is there anything happier than watch two people commit their lives to each other? I am so excited to be a party to their day. PS. Follow me on Instagram Stories to see all the behind the scenes and some of my favorite Omaha spots.



Dear friends, happy Tuedsay. I hope this post made you smile and made you remember all the good things. What are some of the good things in your life?

First, I have to start by saying thank you. So many of you reached out on Friday to send your thoughts, your encouragement and some of the best were those of you who told me how my post and my experience encouraged you. When I first started this blog, my main goal was to create a space that inspired people. And the fact that some of you were encouraged by my words is just so wonderful. So, to those of you that reached out, those that read my words, thank you, you made me feel so loved.

The cool thing I've learned (since Friday) and just in life in general is that there are certain things that are so much more important than other things. Sure achieving goals and going after those goals are important, but theres so much other stuff thats more important.

Helene did a post like this a while back and it's so hilarious. While Helene is hilarious, I am not, but I loved the idea of her post. [shamless plug] if you're not reading Helene in Between, stop what you're doing and head over. Or maybe, finish reading this post and then head over.

These are 7 Things that are More Important:

1. My niece turned three this weekend and all I know is that I really hope my next birthday is a cool as hers. Her birthday party was complete with a Little Tykes bounce houses, a Peppa Pig cake and lots of presents. It was pretty much the coolest birthday I've ever been too, plus for the coolest little 3-year old. 
   
   
   
2. Amy Schumer was on SNL this weekend and pretty much killed it. I just love how unashamed she is and proud of who she is. Plus she is so dang funny and I think she'd be a great addition to my celeb BFF list. 
3. Taylor Swift performed two nights in Omaha this past weekend and I was there with my 2 best girls. I know there are a lot of haters on Taylor Swift, but dang that girl knows how to put on a show. I'm not even ashamed that I spent the evening singing every lyric, dancing with my girls and totally fan-girling over Tay. More on my weekend recap, Thursday! 
4. This video of these guys wearing high heels. Cracks me up. There is nothing better than watching grown men strut around in red patten leather heels. 
5. McDonalds has breakfast all day. I know what you're thinking, don't you eat paleo? Um, yeah I do, but really is there anything better than McDonald's hash browns? I'm just saying if someone gave you a free McDonalds egg McMuffin, would you really turn it down?
6. Snapchat is my new thing. Guys, I love it. Where else can you take selfies with mouse filters and post random videos. I love it. Oh, and you should follow me, it's fun.
